We used to pay the EU £20bn a year and get about £12bn back but the £8bn pa we lost was well spent £120m lol.

Something else that's been slipped out largely unnoticed is the Government has delayed the implementation of inbound customs checks on goods arriving from the EU, this is the 4th time they've done this.

Yet the EU were able to implement theirs from day one.

Makes you wonder what was so bad about a customs union.

Its supposedly a "nationwide festival in celebration of the creativity and innovation of the United Kingdom" which got dubbed "Festival of Brexit" by one of your Idols Jacob Rees Mogg.

A report from the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, described it as "Vague and shape shifting/lacking in clear direction/an irresponsible use of public money/obscure and a recipe for failure.

I can't think of a more fitting tribute to Brexit myself.

But it is still cheaper than being a member of the EU, £120 million is chicken feed.

As was the claim that we could all get mortgages from German banks at their rate of 1% as opposed to the 7% we had at the time, I arranged a mortgage with a German bank when I was working there but the killer was you had to get it underwritten by a UK bank Lloyd's were happy to do it but wanted 10% for the privelage.

The problem is that people like Vladimir Putin immediately smell something fishy when a Brussels third-rater endeavours to cozy up to a country who's border nestles slap bang against that of Mother Russia. While Putin and his top military are less than happy that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are fully paid up members of NATO they're gonna nip in the bud any chance of the less powerful EU adding another charm to it's bracelet which is why they not only annexed the Crimea Peninsula with it's dockyards, anchorage and airfields but impounded severel Ukrainian warships in the bargain.  

While perusing this thread I came upon my post dated 25 August of last year. Now tell me, was I that much out? Did overtures from the EU force Putin to act the way he did? Does it not also illustrate Putin's concern that should Sweden and Finland join NATO his western border, with the exception of Belarus, with be made up of potential enemies. The reality is that Putin and the Russian military would be facing a potential enemy greater than what Stalin had to endure. Thank you EU.

Should we just let him have Poland, Finland, and Moldova just to stop him invading them?

He is a bully surrounded by yes men, Ukraine has told him no, the rest of Europe has too.
