| A day after Plymouth Argyle were officially promoted to League One, there is more good news for the Green Army. Midfield playmaker Danny Mayor will be staying at Home Park for the 2020/21 season after he agreeing to a contract option being taken up. Argyle manager Ryan Lowe confirmed the news at a socially-distanced Press conference at Home Park this morning. Mayor joins Will Aimson, Mike Cooper, Joe Edwards, Byron Moore and Dom Telford in being under contract for next term. The 29-year-old signed for Argyle last summer after following Lowe from Bury. Lowe said: “Danny will be with us next season. He has agreed the option – it was just something in the contract that we had to do. “He has already committed so that’s fine,” added the Pilgrims’ boss. Mayor made a total of 36 starts and three substitute appearances during Argyle’s promotion-winning campaign. He scored only one goal, which was a lot lower than many expected of such a talented player. However, he created several goals for his team-mates even though he was often man-marked by opposing sides. That meant there was more room for Mayor’s team-mates to exploit. With Mayor on board, Argyle will not be lacking for creativity when they step up to League One in 2020/21. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| he'll be out of contract at the end of that season so the club have got to start contract talks with him before January i feel and either get him signed up then or sell him as we cant allow another key player leave for free in the summer if he wants to move on and not at least get something for him.
Whatever contract offers are made to the offers mainly with Jephcott they have to protect the club so any clubs that are interested we can command a higher fee. |

| Ryan Lowe is confident that Plymouth Argyle player-of-the-year Antoni Sarcevic will sign a new deal to stay with the newly-promoted League One club
“What I can say to the fans is look at what Sarce does, what he says and how he goes about his business. He has loved it here, he has loved the fans here.
“It’s over to him. ‘The contract offer is there, come on, yes or no’. We respect either way whatever decision he makes.
Lowe wants an answer from all of his out of contracted players in the next seven days as he looks to build a squad for next season.

You can’t have too many of them in the dressing room. I just hope the rumours about family pressure to move back up north, are wide of the mark. |

| We can rule out Josh Grant and Alex Palmer coming back here next season after an article Lowe gave to the herald today which im sure will be printed on here soon enough. J
Josh Grant has found a new club after being released by Chelsea which probably explains why he didnt want to sign for us perm in jan. Alex Palmer will be playing championship next season according to Ryan as West Brom have plans for him.
the other 3 players who came on loan ryan would be interested in them returning but only if the finances are right. |

| West Brom News
Plymouth Argyle manager Ryan Lowe has confirmed he’d be interested in signing goalkeeper Alex Palmer on another loan deal from West Brom.
Palmer, 23, has never made a first-team appearance for the Baggies and has spent the season out on loan at Plymouth, who won promotion to League One thanks to his strong displays in between the sticks.
The Kidderminster-born goalkeeper has now returned to West Brom and is training with Slaven Bilic’s side as his loan spell at Home Park is officially over.
Although Lowe can see Palmer either playing in the Championship or in the Baggies first-team next season, he would still love to land the former England Under-16 international on another loan deal.
“I had a brief chat with Alex. He has been different class and probably the best goalkeeper in League Two,” said Lowe,
“If I’m West Brom, he ain’t coming back and we have got to be aware of that. We have got to respect that.
“Alex could find himself in West Brom’s first team squad next season, whether that’s second choice, third choice, being around it.
“I think he’s back training with them. If he goes out on loan again, would he bypass Plymouth Argyle? Probably, yeah.
“Could he go to the Championship? Yeah, 100 per cent. So we are cautious of that.
“If the option arose, and he wanted to come back and we wanted him, then we would certainly look at it.”
almer’s done brilliantly at Plymouth this season.
He’s played every single one of their League Two fixtures, keeping 14 clean sheets in 37 league appearances for Lowe’s side.
West Brom might be wise to keep Palmer based on how well he’s done at Home Park.
Jonathan Bond and Ali Al-Habsi are both out of contract at the end of this month and Palmer has another year remaining on his deal.
As Palmer is a product of the West Brom academy, we would like to see him being handed the number two spot in Bilic’s squad. |

Wonder what Figure WBA Have put on his nut ? If Palmer comes back, it would be a loan again. Being in league one now would help for better loans to come in. |

If Cooper ends up playing second fiddle to a loan keeper all season again then I doubt he'll stick around much longer. |

| Plymouth Argyle have been told they will have to pay a transfer fee if they want to sign George Cooper on a permanent deal from Peterborough United.
Ryan Lowe has made it clear he would like to bring the 23-year-old back to Home Park next season after a highly successful loan spell with the Pilgrims last term.
According to Peterborough’s director of football Barry Fry, Cooper has told boss Darren Ferguson that he wants to fight for a first team place at the Cambridgeshire club.
Ferguson is ready to give him that chance, but Fry added an ‘acceptable offer’ from Argyle could change the situation. |

| If he'd prefer to fight for a place with them then let him crack on. As for the old 'acceptable offer' ruse, times have changed Fry you Jurassic parody. |

| Doesn't seem like George Cooper will be leaving the 'Posh' this summer....he'll be fighting for a starting position in the first team squad.....pity. |

| im sure we can find a player equal or better than george copper, unless of course hallett is prepared to pay what they want and i hope he doesnt after watching sunderland till i die where sunderland idiot who owns them paid three times and half the amount will grigg was worth cause wigan knew they were desperate for him i rather we looked elsewhere.
Im sure Dewsnip who runs the scouting network will have had some looked at last season or knows of players to look at in the pre season whenever that actually starts. |

| Dewsnip should utilize his relationship with David Unsworth more instead of spying on Yeovil Town and Exeter, with the latter extremely unlikely to ever cooperate with us. |
