| The problem is those 6 under contract in defence. All 6 should be gone and am not sure of Lowes input with Sawyer for that matter |

Ryan has his work cut out there, probably only Smith - Brown has some potential. Nothing against Gary Sawyer, he has been a great servant, but re signing him for yet another season is short sighted and farcical. |

| So out of that whole list you can probably only count about 13 who can be considered 1st team players and one of those if not 2 will be signing for someone else in the next few day's.
Ryan;s going to be a busy boy. |

| I don't think it's feasible to cut out all the dead wood yet. It's getting too late to start a total rebuild and well just replace the out goers with more of the same. Brent and Adams have left the club in a complete feckin mess. |

Yeah what I meant Gull I get the impression Sawyers contract offer was pre any Lowe input. Agree its a farcical resigning |

| 18-year-old midfield prospect Adam Randell has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Adam joined the Academy as a nine-year-old, and the Plymstock-native is understandably delighted that a decade’s dedication has seen his childhood dream realised at Home Park.
“It feels amazing, it’s everything I have been working towards since I was little,” said Adam immediately after signing his professional terms on Tuesday. “Growing up I supported Argyle so it’s a big achievement for me.”
Adam enjoyed a break-through year last season, which included a first competitive start in the Checkatrade Trophy in November. Derek Adams fielded a young side in the final group game of the competition against Newport County at Rodney Parade. Although the youngsters went down 2-0 against the more experienced Exiles, Randell evidenced enough ability to impress the decision-makers at the Theatre of Greens.
Randell possesses a wide range of passing ability, and a notable eye for goal from dead-ball scenarios. Impressive showings in the Premier League Cup, Central League and Peninsula League have seen him net several eye-catching goals.
“I love taking free-kicks, its one of my favourite things to practice. Hopefully if I can continue to do that I can become a bit of a specialist,” said Randell. “I don’t know the exact number [of free-kicks I’ve scored], five or six I think."
Adam hopes to use his professional status as a platform in the coming weeks and months under the guidance of new manager Ryan Lowe.
“It’s a really exciting time for the club. He [Lowe] has got really high hopes for what the club can achieve - hopefully we move through the leagues,” said Randell. “If I’m lucky, then I’ll be a part of that.”
“Success in a year, for me, will be to have broken into the first team. There’s nothing there to stop me as long as I work hard and put everything into it.
“I’d love to play in front of the fans in a home game - that would be a dream.” |

| Considering Ryan plays a 3-1-4-2 formation and our defence at present has 3 full backs he is either going to move on moore and Smith Brown or change the formation. I feel he will move them on in january. |

| ALEX Fletcher has signed a new contract at Home Park.
The energetic forward, who graduated from the Pilgrims’ youth academy and burst onto the scene in the 2017-18 season, has followed in Gary Sawyer’s footsteps by becoming the second out-of-contract Pilgrim to commit his future to Argyle.
‘Fletch’, 20, joined the Academy as a nine-year-old, and carved a route through to the first-team with a reputation for his incredible engine and work-rate. His knack for scoring goals was soon apparent, too, perhaps exemplified by a four-goal showing in an FA Youth Cup victory over Cheltenham in 2016.
It was perhaps no surprise, then, that he was handed his first-team debut a month later, in the senior FA Cup, against Newport County. At the turn of the year, after the Pilgrims overcame the Exiles in the replay, Fletcher took his spot on the bench for the Pilgrims’ third-round clash against European giants Liverpool.
The Newton-Abbot born striker made his full Pilgrims debut in a 2-2 Checkatrade Trophy draw with Chelsea under-21’s at Home Park – bagging a late and impressive brace to cancel out future England forward Callum Hudson-Odoi’s pair at the other end. Fletcher also netted a penalty as the Greens won the shootout. His first league goal also came at Home Park, a late consolation in a 2-1 defeat to Fleetwood Town.
In January 2018, Fletcher spent a month on-loan at Torquay in the National League, before returning to Home Park and contributing to the Pilgrims’ late push for the Sky Bet League One play-offs.
The scintillating form of top-scorer Freddie Ladapo meant that first-team opportunities were hard to come by for Fletcher last season, although impressive performances in the Premier League Cup, where he captained the young Pilgrims side, and Central League fixtures, ensured that decision-makers at the club were left in no doubt regarding his potential. |

| STRIKER Alex Fletcher is eyeing a regular spot in the Greens’ first-team under new manager Ryan Lowe, having agreed a deal to keep him at his boyhood club.
Fletch made his competitive debut in December 2016, off the bench in a goalless draw at home to Newport County in the FA Cup. Since then, he has appeared another 23 times in the Pilgrims’ senior line-up, with the most recent of these coming as a substitute in the 5-1 loss to Accrington towards the end of the Sky Bet League One season.
With the dust now settled on a disappointing campaign, the Newton Abbot-born forward is excited about the prospect of cutting his teeth in League Two under a new manager.
“I think, for me, breaking in is going to be a lot easier in League Two than it was in League One,” said Fletcher.
Having done his research on Lowe, and his preferred style of play, Fletcher feels that he has a lot to offer his new gaffer.
“I really do think that I fit the criteria for what he [Ryan Lowe] has looked for in a striker in the past,” said Fletcher, who has notched three times in senior colours.
“He might change the system with the players that we’ve got, but I feel that I offer something that would fit well,” the striker continued. “That’s why I’m looking forward to this season - because I’m not looking at myself as a youngster anymore; I’m looking to break in this year."
Despite having his sights set on the first-team, Fletcher acknowledges there is likely to be stiff competition for first-team minutes, particularly at the sharp-end of Lowe’s attacking unit.
“Going back into pre-season, I think everyone is on a level playing field anyway,” said Fletcher. “He [Ryan Lowe] said to me that if I did sign, which I have done now, that he is looking forward to working with me and passing on that knowledge from striker to striker. I’m looking forward to working with him.” |

| JAMAICAN attacker Joel Grant is the latest out-of-contract player to commit his future to Argyle.
Winger Grant, 31, has signed a new deal that extends his stay at Home Park.
Joel arrived from Devon rivals Exeter City in the summer of 2017 upon the Pilgrims’ promotion to Sky Bet League One.
During his first season at Home Park, the Jamaican international made 33 league appearances, scoring six goals, operating primarily as a wide forward, but also, at times, filling in as a makeshift centre-forward as injuries took their toll.
Last season, a promising personal start to the campaign was curtailed by a thigh injury which ruled him out for the second-half of the season. Rather than rest on his laurels, though, an injured Joel would be regularly found in and around Home Park, committing whole-heartedly to his rehabilitation and interacting with staff and supporters on a regular basis.
Joel, capped 14 times by the 'Reggae Boyz', began his career at Watford, but struggled to break into the team upon the Hornets’ promotion to the top-flight. He made an impression at Aldershot, initially on-loan, before joining the Shots permanently upon his release at Vicarage Road.
Spells at Crewe and Wycombe followed, before a move to the South West, and Yeovil, in 2013, preceded a two-year stay with Exeter.

| Joel Grant has admitted he is excited about the prospect of playing for new Plymouth Argyle manager Ryan Lowe.
Grant has signed a new contract with the Pilgrims to extend his stay at Home Park.
The 31-year-old was offered his deal before Argyle appointed Lowe as their new boss, which he described as a ‘tricky’ situation.
Having spoken to Lowe, though, Grant is optimistic about the future, for himself and the club.
Grant told Plymouth Live: “I have spoken to the new Gaffer and I’m quite pleased with what he has had to say.
“He did very well last season (winning League Two promotion with Bury) and I’m sure he wants to continue that with Plymouth Argyle.”
Lowe has come to Home Park with a reputation as a young, ambitious manager who wants his side to play attacking football, and that appeals to Grant.
He can play either wide on the left or as a striker but has yet to discuss with Lowe which position he is likely to be used in next season.
Grant said: “We haven’t quite spoken about that but I know he has his style of playing. I suppose the pre-season will be used for that.
“For me, it’s the same as always, perform and hopefully get the shirt.
“I know a few players who played under him at Bury. I spoke to them and they had nothing but good words to say.
“I just hope I can do my job, stay fit and get the shirt on the match-day.
“He (Lowe) seems like the man for the job. Once we start things will be a bit clearer but, definitely a step in the right direction, I think.”
Grant has committed his future to Argyle after missing the second half of last season because of a thigh injury.
That restricted him to a total of 18 starts, four substitute appearances and four goals last term.
Grant said: “Right from the start I wanted to extend with the club but it wasn’t easy to sign without a manager.
“I was put on the retained list but there was no manager of the club. That made things a bit tricky but I’m delighted to get it all done now.”
There had been some speculation about Colchester United being interested in signing Grant but he described that as ‘rumours’.
He said: “I know there has been some interest but, from my point of view, I was hoping I could get this deal done and pick up where I left off before my injury.
“I’m very settled. My family is here, I really like the club and I was disappointed with the way we finished last season, especially not being able to be out there and try to help the team.
“But I’m very much looking forward to this season and getting the club back to where they should be.” |

| Letheren has turned his offer down citing unforeseen circumstances beyond his control..
not a huge loss imo we would be signing a keeper regardless to whether he stayed or not. The 2nd keeper that will be signed now will be an indication on Cooper's status this season ie a 3rd choice or 2nd or Who knows maybe he could really impress in pre season and be 1st. |

| Goalkeeper Kyle Letheren has become the latest player to confirm his departure from Plymouth Argyle.
The 31-year-old was included on the Pilgrims’ retained list at the end of last term.
However, Letheren posted on social media site Twitter on Friday morning that ‘due to circumstances that have been taken out of my own hands I won’t be back next season’.
It leaves Argyle with 19-year-old Michael Cooper as the only ‘keeper in their squad.
Letheren was signed as a free agent by former Pilgrims’ boss Derek Adams early in the 2017/18 season and went on to make a total of 23 starts.
He had been in fine form for Argyle last term until he suffered a groin injury in the 2-0 defeat at Sunderland at the start of March.
Letheren did return to play in both of the Pilgrims’ games over Easter but missed the final two matches of the season.
On Friday, he tweeted: “Just wanted to say a massive thanks to all the @only1argyle fans, it was a pleasure representing your club.
But due to circumstances that have been taken out of my own hands I won’t (be) back next season. I wish the Green Army all the best for the future.”
Letheren follows Graham Carey, Ryan Edwards, David Fox and Yann Songo’o in leaving Argyle this summer as free agents.
Plymouth Live contacted Argyle about Letheren's departure, and his remarks, but they declined to offer comment. |

| MICHAEL Peck has signed his first professional contract with the Pilgrims after an excellent career in the Home Park Academy.
Peck was one of many young prospects who made their debuts in the Checkatrade Trophy group stage game against Newport County last season, a game which he felt delighted to be involved in from the first whistle.
The teenager feels his form has improved since his position was changed from central midfield to the centre of defence after a spate of injuries hit the side.
“There were some injuries, we had a lot of centre midfielders in the squad but not many defenders, so I filled in at right-back,” he said.
“Then, another injury happened and I came into centre-back and stayed there. In my first season I did okay. In my second season I was converted to a centre-back and, from there, I felt my performances got better and better. Around the mid-season point, I was starting to feel that it was a positive outcome.”
With that first-team appearance to whet the appetite, Peck wants to build on that under new Argyle manager Ryan Lowe.
“First and foremost, I’ll work really hard in pre-season, try and make an impact in training as much as possible, and see what happens. Hopefully, I’ll get some involvement,” said Peck. |

| RYAN Law, 19, has signed his second professional contract for Argyle and has now set his sights on establishing his place on the first-team scene.
Law, who has been at the club since 2008 when he joined the Argyle Academy as an Under-9, flew through the youth ranks until he was offered his first professional contract last year.
“I’m obviously very happy,” Ryan said, “I have been here a long time and I just want to push on and get into the first-team.”
Last season saw Law make an appearance in the Checkatrade Trophy match against Newport in November, at left-back, and he also went on loan to Gloucester in the National League South for a month in January.
Injury hampered his time at Gloucester but his wholehearted performances down the years as a junior have not gone unnoticed.
“I went on loan and started on the bench in my first two games,” he said. “I was going to play the game after that, but I was injured before.
“That was very frustrating because, hopefully, I would have started, made an impact on the team and had a good season for them. I’m feeling fit now. I have been working hard [ready for] pre-season to come back strong.
“Hopefully, I’ll make a couple of starts for the first-team and train with them every day and get offered another contract.”
After learning that new manager Ryan Lowe’s preference on the types of players he would like to bring in, Law is confident that he can bring the right assets to the starting 11.
“I have heard he likes attacking players,” said Ryan. “I’m an attacking full-back, so hopefully I fit his system well.”
Good luck for the season, Ryan. |
