| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I recall his debut for us as he was announced to the crowd as signing for us that day that they had to get bolt cutters out to snip his ring off his finger cause he couldnt take it off after the ref told him he had to remove it. IMO probably one of Luggy V2.0 better signings he made here. Always thought he was a decent left back for us given he joined at the start of the decline. 39 is no age and if it is suicide than even greater shame for his friends and families.

| On the official site- PLYMOUTH Argyle is deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of former Pilgrim Chris Barker. Barks, 39, represented Argyle between 2008-2010, making over 50 Championship appearances for the Greens. A hugely respected figure in the Home Park dressing room, Chris captained the side and was a vital component of Paul Sturrock’s team at either left or centre-back. We send the condolences from everyone at Home Park, and further afield, to the family and friends of Chris. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Sad news indeed, just read the BBC SPORT article, sadly it indicates suicide, either way distressing to all knew him. RIP |

| Terrible news and start to the new year. Reports seem to suggest suicide too. Heart breaking. |
