| Yup that's right, let's have Gold, Silver, Bronze and wooden post-boxes. Wooden to replicate the wooden spoon for anyone who didn't make the medals?
Come on Mike I know you're an ass-licker but this is too far. Firstly the Gold Post-boxes were a good idea, but not silver and bronze ffs, and why should the Lithuainian swimmer also get one painted?
Sorry but this is diluting the original good gesture and making it farcical. |

| This is a grand idea to celebrate one man's efforts, and assist with bringing him to the attention of the citizens of Plymouth.....
Trouble is, it ain't Tom Daley. |

| Tom Daley has done brilliantly, and done his city and country proud. Brilliant stuff from the lad.
BUT.....the original idea was a great one, with the GOLD postboxes. Changing it will dilute the gesture. Besides Tom will be a serious contender for gold next time, what are we going to do then?
Current olympic bronze medalist, but possible future olympic champion. His best days are still ahead of him. |

| It's really quite sinister the way he throws his face around the local media. I liked the phrase 'secured the funding' though...exactly how much was needed to buy a tin of paint? I wonder if Nikkk helped out. |

| The man, I use that term in the loosest sence, has no feckin idea has he? How long does he want to spend painting them, long enough for more media coverage by the looks, good god you need a bigger one than that, I'm talking paint brushes here. So, he does clean the toilets with a toothbrush then!!
Shame it wasn't about his resignation, I would have applauded his integrity then!!

| I think we should build a statue of Chris Webb on the centre circle at HP. It would ruin the pitch but he would have achieved his goal and at least then we wouldn't have to put up with anymore of his half witted self promotion. |

| To be honest I see no harm in it- it's a bit of a non-story really. Maybe it's an attempt to lure Tom Daley to home park to do the half time lottery/ attend a fansfest? |

What next though CA? Paint the postbox when someone from Plymouth wins anything? British boxing title, European swimming title, Devon Bowl? The original plan was to paint postboxes in the towns where gold medal winners lived and I didn't see anyone questioning this until Tom Daley won a deserved bronze medal. Now all of a sudden it should be painted postboxes for ANY medals. If an Exeter diver had won bronze Chris Webb wouldn't be so keen on the idea, and to be honest a city the size of Plymouth should be able to produce the occasional Olympic medalist so it shouldn't be such a rare thing anyway. If the club want Tom Daley to make an appearance I'm sure they could plan something else, like giving him a bronze coloured seat which they could re-paint if he goes better in the future. If Argyle were to ever win a league again and Royal Mail decided to paint a post-box green and white I would say good idea. If Argyle got promoted in 3rd place I would say not a great idea. Simples. |

| Why not just FV don a pair of skimpy Speedos make up a song (stuff your knobs in for the lads?) and do simulated dives in the penalty area.
Wonder if Ruta is getting any offers in from bigger swimming schools in this country or abroad. You would think that might be the case. Would be a bit embarrassing if they did a post box only to see her enrolling at California High in September. |

1/10 for el Prseidente' That isn't his tooth brush, it needs to be 4 times the size. Webb...the embarassment continues. Daley did well but he lost. Celebrate defeat seems to be a habit Webb enjoys |

Think this would be a good compromise. I think the President should get behind Tom Daleys Lunchbox.
(Shouldn't be long before I get a call to start designing stuff for Argyle.) |

Just about sums up how I feel, not that I live in Plymouth, but it does appear that Chris is jumping on the Olympics bandwagon and opinion isn't with him. As he works for the Union that serves postal workers he might get his own way on this one, but then the whole country will be turning up with paintbrushes for anything. |

Why build a statue? Just get an Alsatian in from his daily "walkies" in Central Park and let him deposit his "webby" in a suitable location |
