Hope they intend to put a top coat of a different colour on that front elevation in front of those seats. Battleship grey looks fine on the Navys destroyers but not at a football ground I'd imagine the sponsorship boards will go there. |

| I see the land that Bent now holds for the walter mitty Icerink is starting to degenerate further into rack and ruin.
As far as slum landlords could go Bent would put Rachman to shame? |

| Even though the whole thing was the fallout from the land squatting parasite, Hallett had no choice but to crack on and see the thing through, and for that I have to say fair play.
Absolutely nothing happened when Brent was around, amazed he had the audacity to show his ugly face on Saturday although I'm glad to report the other 'suits' clearly wanted nothing to do with him or his chauffeur. |

The rake of the upper Grandstand hasn’t been changed, so the pitch of the seats will be exactly the same. |

Because the seats are more modern in design, their might be an inch or two more legroom? I certainly hope so, as sitting there before was torture for someone of my height. I would dearly like to know the differences between the new grandstand and the horseshoe - where I still find the seating cramped. The old Lyndy had great legroom! |

Could have been the angle of photo as well. The impression is certainly of more space though. Just had a look at Pasoti and couple saying the same Bungo in one of his original blogs indicated more leg space for customers as well |

| I think they were followers of the argo sub set PASHITTI who having read constantly of what a wonderful revamped legacy we have for generations to come, were so overwhelmed with excitement and passion - they couldn't wait till Saturday to be near it. |

its the stand that time forgot and football clubs have left behind from the 70's. i gurantee within 10 years that stand will be due to be replace as its not fit for purpose for one thing the cladding is gopping and the views that fans have complained about are still there and fans will not want to be exposed to the elements in the cheap seats. |

| The only other revamped stands I can think of that still have pillars in the view line, is Goodison Park and Craven Cottage but then they are somewhat iconic, unlike the good old Moanflower. I had a good look at it during the Brizzle game. I can see what people are saying about the lack of cover, agree in ten years time don't think it will look great with it's revamped retro look. Unless you are a follower of the Newell sect of course, when we will have the best ground in Devon, and something to be proud of. |

| The Green Jim Legacy Stand due to open in a few months - Herald wrote:
- Plymouth Argyle are hoping to have the redeveloped Mayflower Grandstand open to supporters by New Year’s Day.
The Pilgrims will play Swindon Town at Home Park on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
The grandstand could be used on a more limited basis before that, though, according to Argyle chief executive Andrew Parkinson. Seats have started to be fitted into place in the grandstand this week as the £6.5 million-plus construction project continues. Parkinson told Plymouth Live: “We are still going to be completed for the last quarter (of 2019). “We are looking at the end of October for the construction to have been completed, there or thereabouts.
“Then there is a fit-out programme which is usually about five or six weeks. “We have been working on those in parallel, which means the first events will hopefully happen in the second week of December. “We have got some Christmas events lined up for non-matchday. “Then what we have got to work through over the next couple of weeks is putting a programme together of test events.
“We will have a limited number of people that will be able to come into that to test access and egress. “From there, we will then go into the plan which is our first game. That’s going to be in December in some format, but it might be a more limited capacity. “Certainly we will have our first home game if not before the turn of the year then it could be New Year’s Day. “We are working through what is the right mechanics and dynamics for that.” Parkinson previously worked for seven years at Premier League club Liverpool as their operations director. In that role he was involved in the £100m redevelopment and expansion of the main stand at Anfield, so he is used to projects such as the one at Home Park. Parkinson said: “They are always unpredictable in terms of how they develop, and you are not just dealing with a stand as well, it has got to work operationally. “It’s the outside area too, and we have got the supporters’ bar that is being developed as well, which is another aspect. “There are new ways of getting in, the land outside has got to be levelled so there are lots of different things, the things you don’t know until you are in there. “But it’s so important for the club because it’s not just the 30-odd games that we play, it’s about all the other times the stadium needs to be open. Read More Plymouth Argyle News Revealed: When grandstand could open Argyle set for 10,000-plus crowd McFadzean on 'magic man' Mayor Can Home Park become a fortress again? Lowe talks about new Argyle 'family' Edwards on manager's high standards How to sign up to 'Inside Home Park' Argyle's 2019/20 fixtures in full “It’s how do we generate income so that we can get the best first team on the pitch, and so on.” Argyle are already selling three matchday packages for when the grandstand is open – Pioneers, platinum and gold - and Parkinson has been pleased with the response to that. Parkinson said: “It has been really positive. Having three different offerings, not a one size fits all, is great. “Also, as a non-matchday events venue, we have also had a lot of provisional bookings. “We are probably almost halfway there to what we targeted, and we have still got eight or nine months to go in the financial year. “It has been very important to us, but it’s also been great to see the interest in it as well.” At the same as the redevelopment of the grandstand, the Green Taverners have been building the new two-storey supporters’ bar next to it. That is nearing completion, but will not be ready for the first home League Two game of the season, against Colchester United on Saturday.
Parkinson said: “We are hopeful it’s going to be ready for the Salford game (on Tuesday, August 20). “That’s what we are working to, but it’s a tight for time programme so we are not absolutely confirmed on that.” He added: “That’s actually a good relationship between the Green Taverners and the club, in the sense that the Green Taverners will have the upper space and the club will have the lower space for the first year. “It will act for us as a really good temporary events area and for hospitality on a matchday instead of the Life Centre, which we have been using. “The relationship we have fostered with the Green Taverners over the last few months has been really good and very valuable.” [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

Unless you are a follower of the Newell sect of course, when we will have the best ground in Devon, and something to be proud of. both grounds you mentioned are set to be demolished in a few years. well goodison is anyways craven cottage is set for a major revamp. But i agree they have history unlike us. The senior greens have alot to answer for lumbering us with a rehashed stand cause they are too old to embrace change. |
