| Assume everyone has seen that PM or had it passed around last night as the originator had okayed that scenario ?? Surprised no one has mentioned it overnight though ?? I cant copy and paste it without his/her permission as a member here but will do if given it
In precis the grandstand is fecked and no attempt at refurbishment should ever have started and simply wont take the anticipated bodge The original contractor threw it back at Brent saying no way would his company ruin its reputation by getting involved |

One thing I did notice from looking at the pics the Gts seem to be cracking on and putting the steel up. I thought they only had planning permission upto DPC level. Isnt steel work above foundation level? Yep they did and that was from McGuire himself just prior to Xmas Clearly all been given the green light now and fair play to them |

Isn't this the sort of thing ATD has been continually saying since the inception of Brent's clusterfuck? |

Likewise, there's no way (not that I ever would) I will be sitting in that death trap. That steel looked fooked even without the couple of hundred ton yet to go back on - plus a few thousand punters! Bollox to that. |

| Just read the PM. Pretty much confirms what most on here pretty much knew It's obvious to even non experts in construction that the existing structure is only fit for demolition. To still proceed with the mankover after that sort of advice from construction industry experts sounds like negligence. When it collapses we can only hope the stadium is completely empty. This is the sort of information that needs to be sent to the press. |

Well hopefully no honest building contractor would build anything on them, If they did they surely and this is just thinking off top of my head, no knowledge of it but theres no way in hell would it pass any building inspection would it ? |

No Freathy that is culpable negligence How the feck can Brent and Hallett proceed knowing that is simply criminal |

| Interesting times at PAFC and no doubt interesting times ahead - bookies favourites for relegation and a possible dodgy mankover. Brent legacy etc etc. |

it comes from a man with a history of sensible non partisan posts, there are some construction industry professionals in the fan base with similar misgivings. _______________________________________ COYG!

| Makes you wonder now he only has 30% Mr Brent, Whether the herald would actually investigate this, This is beyond petty football club politics and the shit on the pitch, peoples lives potentially could be at risk. |

| Basically Brent approached a SW Chartered surveyors firm who strongly advised him to demolish the existing structure & build a completely new stand and that the mankover would be an inadequate bodge. Said firm did not want to touch Mankover with a bargepole.
from a reliable poster as well.

| So did they start this whole thing off with no structural survey? Or are these latent defects? Or (worst option) is this PM suggesting that they had a survey done and ignored the results?
The first option would be idiocy, considering the sums involved. The second would be a bummer, but unfortunately these things do happen occasionally - not every defect is apparent before strip-out.
The third option would be, to put it very mildly, not good... |

The third option would be, to put it very mildly, not good... The whole project has reeked of amateur inefficiency from the start. We both said at the start that a project this size needs proper management. if this is where we are at now the board should resign, bring the administrators in and hand the keys to the AFT. I'd like to see the pm please. |

Maybe they are in brents gang . Best we can hope for is the thing collapses in on itself before they do any work on it. |
