| I'm fully consigned to the fact we're in for a calamitous time re the mankover. A few of the popcorn moments I fully expect to erupt sooner or later are budgets, hidden nasties, incompetence, UXB's, bats, boardroom dust-ups, material costs, world shortage of plastic seats, fracking earthquakes, corrosive sea air, wonky donkey web-cams, Brexit, face in-the-crowd lawsuits...........ad infinitum
It's all on it's way, trust me. Let's just hope there's no world popcorn shortage any time soon. |

| Went up there this morning to get my tickets for tomorrow's game and surprise surprise the broadband wasnt working in the ticket shack so they were unable to issue me tickets. I asked is it pay on the turnstiles and she said that it was with no price increase so off I shuffled ticketless.
On my way out I glanced at the rusting structure and wondered how on earth they can build new stuff onto that.
Basket case from top to bottom. |

| You can guarantee something is already going on, given the silence, it's deafening. This whole thing goes right back to McCauley's days and his big fall out with the council over the tradium. The council were willing to put so much to the stadium they owned, but they expected the club to contribute too, given a whole new home for the club and nobody else. Fair enough. PCC wouldn't pass over the freehold, but gave the club a massively long lease. McCauley got angry, wouldn't pay a penny without owning the stadium. Hence the debacle of the horseshoe take up by fans for fans which was the best that could be cobbled together with various grants. McCauley even bought Drakes Island and squatted there out of spite just to piss off the council, and that's without even going in to his recently discarded Sutton Harbour holdings' stand offs with PCC elsewhere. Fast forward to more modern times, and a similar scenario where PCC offered Brent £5 million if he stumped up a similar sum. He also refused and bought the stadium instead. Why is it still relevant now ? because Brent, and maybe Hallett too now, we don't know yet, almost have it in their mind that the council have got away with something and are haunted by there possibly still being a pot of council gold that could subsidise the refurb of what is now their private property, or even their holy grail, let them build residential housing in the park to pay for their stadium development as many other clubs have been ale to do because they're not in a park. On it goes. On and on. I've been expecting some form of padlocked mayhem ever since Todd chucked in the keys, and what better time than a half demolished grandstand for 2020 . Maybe we're coming to it at last, or maybe Hallett will bring resolution and it all to a close and just bite the bullet. Nobody knows. There's all manner of manufactured excuses waiting to be unravelled, UXBs, stone age burial grounds, shale oil, anything. Maybe the new "fragrant" boardroom will start some suffragette movement and demand parkland housing for disadvantaged single mothers |

| The nobody knows thing is for reasons of politeness. This modern world doesn't take a lot of reading if you wish to. The old one was probably just as simple. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

PCC wouldn't pass over the freehold, but gave the club a massively long lease. Well. there's something only you knew. Who would have believed it? Because for many years, the suggestion that it was possible the club could buy the stadium was ridiculed by all and sundry on Pasoti. It was a god given fact that the "covenants" to the park forbade it. I certainly never saw you contradict that stance. I once brought up whether this covenant restriction was actually true and where was the proof etc, and was rounded on by the likes of Angry Andy, throbber et al, including the 'he who knows it all former pasoti mod' who now resides here doing much the same thing. I was told no proof was needed, it was just 'known' - as if it was some sort of universal physical law like gravity. In fact... I remember the first time somebody on Pasoti posted that the council were going to sell the stadium to Stapes, the poster was ridiculed mercilessly. He might have even been banned for trolling? Just a few days later he was proved correct. Shock horror.... |
