Still can't see Russia doing much now they are through to the knockout stages. They have had an easy group, but once they come up against a better side they will have problems. |

Too early for this England team to win the World Cup this time around (would be an achievement if they pulled it off), they are a work in progress and the first 20 minutes or so against Tunisia they looked excellent. Over the next 2-6 years though, they could well claim some silverware and especially the Euros in 2020/2024 ?.

| I have enjoyed it so far, with plenty of shocks and controversy. And more to come too !!
I would be as happy as Larry if Germany, Argentina or Brazil went after the group stages. Out of the three, Argentina look like they could, Croatia next for them and that will not be a cake walk.
As for a dark horse, you could possibly pick one from five - Portugal, Belgium, Mexico, Denmark and England.

There have been some dreadful decisions made by the men in the middle. Was the ref in the England game bribed before hand, as his two errors regarding Kane were diabolical. As for VAR, once they eventually iron out issues it will come to pass how beneficial it was in this World Cup. |

| I did chuckle when I saw three Colombian refs on our game. Southgate should have gt in first with the Baksheesh. I thought Spain huffed and puffed like me granfer, obvious quality but a shite team. Ronaldo could take Portugal all the way, don't think Messi will for the Argies though. I thought Mexico looked decent. My Russia comment was more to get the doping gag in before anyone else did btw I think they'll struggle against a good team also. France are shite also, they deserve to be whipped by Peru. |

| Argentina vs Croatia was a cracking game. Hilarious defending by both sides a FOOKIN howler by the Argie goalie but master lass from Modric and their no 7 whatever he's called in the second half. Argentina all off over the shop but mainly ambling about, Messi plays second fiddle to Ronaldo. Feck off Diego lol. |

| It's no surprise Argentina have been so shit in their two games so far, given their qualifying games results, they only just made it to the finals. Would have been good to have seen a bit of Messi magic in the world cup, think they've had it, if the Nigerians turn up today against Iceland they could get a draw. Diego needs to take out a gym membership, 'don't cry for me Argentina'. |

| Croatia were outstanding second half. Their half time talk certainly sorted out the first half defensive problems. Argentina clearly a shadow of the team they once were, even with the world's best player. |

| I'd take issue with the worlds best player crown for Messi, surround him with quality and he's one of the best whilst Ronaldo still looks the part surrounded by , I wouldn't say shite, but lesser players. |

Croatia were good and the Argies were shite, plain and simple. All we need now is for Iceland to beat Nigeria, then they and Croatia can play out a boring draw in the final game, bye-bye Argentina. On the radio last night some Argentinian fans were adamant that they will scrape through ?. I hope not as they are not a decent side anymore and deserve to be sent packing. The face of the cheating, hand ball expert was a treat last night as he sat in the stands sullen. |

I can see Nigeria parking the bus for 90 minutes, with the rare counter attack. The Argies will be fired up no doubt and it should be an interesting encounter. The Argies have been given a lifeline that they do not deserve. It will be the Croation-Iceland game that all eyes will be on, as Croatia could well let Iceland win. Moving back to VAR, it has been said by the pundits that the players who draw squares and demand to have an incident reviewed are breaking the laws of the game. The players are not allowed to converse with or sway the referee/linesmen in the case of a missed incident. |

| The BBC commentary is lamentable, just heard Phil Neville say during the Belgium v Tunisia game"haven't seen a bad game yet". Talking through his arse yet again. |

| 4 - 1 Belgium 51 mins, play like that again can't see the mighty England getting much against them . |

Looks like England will need to beat Panama by at least 6-0 to go top of the group, then take it from there. Finishing second will not be a bad thing though with the way other fixtures could pan out. As with Russia, Belgium do look good, but they have only played Panama and Tunisia (with England to come). When they come up against one of the bigger sides, then we will see how good they really are (the same applies to Russia). Having said that, they could be the dark horse of the tournament ?. It would be like watching Argyle beat a Conference side, then a League Two side in the FA Cup after great performances and plenty of goals, only to come unstuck in the next round against a much higher and better side. |

| Belgium are a bit shaky at the back but with Hazard and De Buyne Lukaka are all threats. Thought Bakuli (sp?) was more like Sterling than Sterling is. |

Surely if England beat Panama and Belgium the goal difference wouldn't matter? Anyway, the Jerries are losing 1-0 at half time, looks like their run of bad luck in Russia could be continuing. |
