| Shaping up to be an interesting competition, no one who was expected to win has won so far. Hasn't been as dire as most world cup group stages. |

| Can't claim to be gripped by the world cup but made the effort to watch tonight. England made it very difficult for themselves by missing those chances early on,straightforward lack of composure mostly. Very difficult to understand the rationale behind the penalty decisions which were and weren't given, twas like Bingley town hall on a Saturday afternoon in the 1960's when Kane was wrestled to the deck. Sterling very unconvincing as per usual for England, his place must be in jeopardy after decent impacts made by Rashford and Loftus Cheek late on.Encouraging to score a couple of goals from set pieces which are as important at WC level as any other but are England really good enough to compete with the top level teams out there? Doubt it very much. |

| Tunisia are the Wycombe of the World Cup.
Thought for the first 20 mins we looked as good as anyone. Went downhill after that though.
Sneaked it at the end, that'll do for a start. |

| It ain’t often I’ll utter the words “Jordan Henderson was my MOTM”, but tonight he was.
Never been convinced Maguire should even be in the squad, let alone a first 11. Tonight reinforced that view. Sterling seemed to have about 20 times more mozzies than anyone else buzzing around his head. It was like the chef in the old cartoon strip, Beau Peep. Maybe that contributed to him doing fook all constructive. Lingard was also disappointing because he usually buries those sort of chances.
Hey ho, a win is a win though. Pleased for Kane, our one truly World class player. But Rashford has to be nailed on to start on Sunday, for Raheem. |

| Bad Var, bad ref, England patchy, subs half hour too late, Tunisia toothless, Sterling useless. Looking forward to the Panama game - should be a classic. Still look on the bright side, Germany lost to Mexico. |

| I reckon Southgate will start with Sterling working on the assumption that even I would score given that many chances hence vindicating the managers decision. I would have thought that Rashford starting with Sterling coming on for last half hour would be better. I thought Maguire was good going forewords later on but was an absolute liability in defence earlier doors. |

Looking forward to the Panama game - should be a classic. Still look on the bright side, Germany lost to Mexico. That VAR is classic. For every other team in the comp it makes the game a lot fairer, as alway England have a different set of rules. For us it will just show us how we've been cheated. |

| First time I've seen some of an England's game for years, don't even know some of the players, never heard of them. What a bore, so I won't be doing that again in a hurry. Must have had a moment of weakness. A bunch of look-a-like clockwork fast feet sorts, with half a dozen signature tricks, cloned on carpet pitches by algorithm coaches, with next to no creativity and vision. Bring back Hoddle, Waddle and Gazza. I like Kane, seen a bit of him from time to time, but then, he's a proper footballer. |

| The punditry on the whole is predictably sychophantic and dire on both ITV and BBC, excepting Waddle and Butcher who say it as it is, nothing like a good Waddle rant. The curmudgeonly Lawro is also a delight with his not so subtle piss taking of the modern player, keep it up Lawro. Shearer and Lineker have reached new heights of tedium by comparison. |

| First twenty minutes were impressive after that agree the boring Jermaine Jeanus and the talking out of his arse Shearer were practically orgasmic ~really? The Portugal v Spain game remains the benchmark so far, was on a different level of footballing expertise and entertainment. |

| Basically if you have a one on one situation with the keeper our players won't put it away, excepting Rashford, Vardy and Kane, don't even go there with Sterling. |
