BRENT OUT

Shall we just enjoy this one at the moment..... raised eyebrow .

Of course we can all enjoy yesterday's achievement, just making the point, that if we had a board and owner looking ambitiously at the longer term, then they would already be stating their intent, and planning for a return to the Championship.
Agree with others next season will be a rerun of this season. Brent will be low key until we are either sinking towards the bottom of league 1 or rising near the top, when in both scenarios he will be under pressure to discuss finances.

You just don't get it do you....administration takes a lot of getting over....even when you don't pay all the debts that it brings along......

Living within our means and building a good foundation to expand upon comes first.....pie in the sky ambitions got us into this mess to start with...or have you forgot already...

There our twenty one clubs in this division at present who would willingly swap with us for a place in Div 1 next season.....plus having our financial position at present....which is paying our way.

What "good foundation" would that be? And i suppose in your book, pie in the sky ambition would be to emulate other clubs of a similar or lesser intrinsic size who have progressed to a far greater degree than Argyle both on and off the field?

Leyton Orient lost the play-off final in Div 1 in 2013/14.....the next year relegated to Div2....this year dropping into the National League.....badly run and totally skint....be careful what you wish for.....I'll stick with what we've got and how it is being achieved thank you.

I can't spend all day chatting.....I've got a bit of guttering to sort out ....then cut the grass.

I'll check later to see if anything interesting has been said worthy of an answer.

What a heap of crap. Typical lowest common denominator mindset, utterly depressing.

Why has it got to be a constant race to the bottom with some supporters? Instead of going on about look what happened with Leyton Orient in order to justify 6 years of shit improving at a glacial why not look at the many, many clubs that we used to consider equals that have left us far behind and wonder why it has never happened to us. The hero worship of a man for not letting us go out of business is just the ultimate in brow beaten misery.

I swear What Happened To Portsmouth would be used as a justification for never winning a major trophy, its so depressing.

That's why it's so important that people on here voice a counter argument to the unambitious crap that comes out of Home Park and the Brentherald.

I'm sure Akkeron or some such body of fine gentlemen could supply some professional support. Just one of many ways.

Some don't like the truth or some just being ironic? I'd probably laugh too if I was an opposing fan. Potentially big club with potential huge fan base completely sells out less than 14k. I doubt you'll be paying £50 a ticket should we reach the 2nd division.

Wow there...enough of the drama. Everyone is welcome on here(unlike elsewhere) imo, my point was, if you can't stomach the general opinion on here why put yourself through it?

In the context that it was a great day for south coast clubs with Argyle, Portsmouth and Brighton all confirming promotion.

The Channel Five show were also crowing about Argyle and Pompey.

It will be interesting to see where all three sides are in five years time. Argyle will probably be a League One club still, while Pompey and Brighton will be in the Championship no doubt. I can't see Brighton staying in the Prem for too long, a couple of seasons at best.

It was reported last week that the Prem was down £312 million - due to Brexit and other issues. It was suggested that it will not have any bearing on the likes of Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal. But for the rest, it could be a slight hindrance.

You only have to look at former giants to see that living the dream can go tits up. Birmingham, Villa, Forest, Blackburn and Wigan all seem to be in freefall, and then there is Coventry (who were founder members of the Premier League back in '92).

A couple of years ago, we went up to Birmingham for a League Cup game and the Brummie stewards were saying that Birmingham City have no money and if they do not get any soon, will crumble and wither on the wind.

Hey guys
I don't necessarily agree with Zyph's point of view, but some of you have been a little threatening (imho)to it. ATD should be a broad church, where all POV arewelcome. Play the ball not the man.
Some of the comebacks, mentioning no names demeans some of the posters on here. Again IMHO

Zyph's utterly ill advised comment about this place not lavishing praise on the club for the promotion was bar far a dam right senile thing to do even for him. There are lots of posts on here from pretty much all users including freathy! doing such its not hard to find them but its not convent for him to do that as it doesnt fit his agenda. Bashing the place is so if he gives it he gets it back.

the countdown begins is a thread that reminds us all that winter is coming and absolutely nothing good a brent owned club does comes without consequences and soon we shall see it played out. This promotion doesnt get him off the hook in anyway.

ying and yang
