| JUST when you started to worry about a football fix this week Argyle have the answer with a mouthwatering Carlsberg South West Peninsula League game against St Austell on Tuesday.
The Pilgrims have made an unbeaten start to their Premier Division campaign but this will surely be the biggest test to date against the league runners-up from last season who will surely be challenging again this year.
Argyle are likely to include first-team professionals who did not start in Saturday's excellent Sky Bet League Two win over Mansfield on Saturday, with the likes of David Goodwillie, Craig Tanner and Jordan Slew all expected to be involved.
The game kicks-off at 7.30pm at the Devon FA headquarters of Coach Road in Newton Abbot. Tickets are priced at £4 for adults and £2 concessions.

| Argyle's SWPL game against St Austell to be shown live on FacebookArgyle's SWPL game against St Austell to be shown live on Facebook Craig Tanner and Louis Rooney are expected to feature against St Austell Comments (0) Plymouth Argyle fans that can't make the trip to Coach Road this evening to watch the reserve team play St Austell, can watch the game from the comfort of their own sofa. The match will be shown live on Facebook, which gives the Green Army a great chance to see some of the younger Pilgrims in action. First team manager Derek Adams confirmed that Craig Tanner and Louis Rooney will play a part in the fixture. It is believed that the game comes too soon for Karleigh Osborne. Marc McCallum could feature for Argyle against St Austell this evening Vincent Dorel or Marc McCallum could also feature for the Pilgrims with Luke McCormick the current first choice goalkeeper. The game will be shown on the Cornwall Channel Facebook page, with coverage expected to start at 7.20pm. Plymouth Argyle, who are in their first season in the SWPL Premier Division, are currently unbeaten after winning three and drawing one of their first four games. St Austell have a 100 per cent record with two wins from their two games played. The game gives a great opportunity for some of the players that haven't had as much game time, to taste action. They wouldn't complain if they was in our boots.. or the extra numbers people will add to their gates if there's a chance of some XI team players playing for Argyle Reserves again, |

| Argyle's inclusion in the league was bound to cause a stir as soon as they started including first teamers.
They have received favourable fixtures in relation to the fact that they are not allowed to use 'their ground' after march - hence the league have arranged their home fixtures all early in the season, without thought to other Premier clubs. They have NIL home fixtures scheduled for January, ONE in February and ONE in march.
Under the FA rules they are not allowed to go higher in the pyramid system than Step 6, where they are now, irrespective of what position they finish. If Exeter City reserves and Torquay Utd reserves joined the league you could end up with those clubs all in the top three and therefor no club could ever get promotion ( despite the arguments over that).
There is a vast difference between A Professional Club using full time contract players and a club in our Premier League using players from time to time who are registered with them.
WHY have a club in a pyramid system that cannot move up the pyramid, but just sets its self against others in that league. Why, because Argyle do not have the money or the initiative to arrange a reserve league for professional clubs in the southern half of England.
Argyle bring nothing to football in the South West, nothing to the superb Swpl, nothing to liaise with local clubs and are completely devoid of any sense of loyalty to the South West local clubs who strive so hard to develop this pyramid system. |
