Mansfield news from their media

Manager Adam Murray revealed prior to Tuesday night's win over Yeovil that defender Krystian Pearce and striker Pat Hoban had returned to training after their respective injuries, however neither were deemed fit enough to be included in the squad against the Glovers.

Midfielder Jack Thomas may still be out with a groin injury, however Murray revealed that the 20-year-old is stepping up his recovery. Forward Danny Rose will begin the first of a three match ban after his sending off in midweek,

The Pilgrims brought in 14 new summers during the close season and manager Derek Adams has said that his players are still getting to know each other.

The only absentee of note is centre-half Karleigh Osborne, who is recovering from a thigh strain which he picked up in the first week of pre-season.

Recent form

Stags have enjoyed a good start to the 2016/17 Sky Bet League Two campaign after picking up seven points from a possible nine with wins over Newport County and Yeovil Town either side of a 1-1 draw at home to Cheltenham Town.

Striker Danny Rose was dismissed after just eight minutes of Tuesday's 1-0 win over Yeovil, however Stags still triumphed thanks to frontman Matt Green's second half penalty.

The Pilgrims have endured a tough start to the campaign after back-to-back defeats against Luton Town and Carlisle United, but Derek Adams' side recorded their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Notts County in midweek.

Latvian centre-half Nauris Bultivis scored his first goal in English football after Jon Stead had cancelled out Jake Jervis' opener for Argyle, which proved to be enough to secure their first points of the season.

Previous meeting

The last meeting between the sides was in February of this year when the Devon side ran out 3-0 winners. Striker Ryan Brunt added a brace to winger Gregg Wylde's opener as the Pilgrims put breathing space between themselves in second place and third-placed Oxford United.

OVERALL RECORD: WON: 7 | DRAWN: 9 | LOST: 19

Another home defeat for Gargoyles to suck up, but it's not all doom n gloom at the Theatre of Schemes.

At least there is a club to support, plus much excitement from pooper scooper, De-Liar, Nooligan, and the like awaiting the grand opening of the refurbished portakabin selling warm cans of carlsberg. All profits to reluctant Jimmy's stadium purchase and the family pension pot.

It might not be the Boots n Laces but it'll be standing room only lol! Forget The Brit, pay £3 for a warm can and smell pig BO

They're planning a microwave too, but you'll have to bring your own Rustlers/Ugo's.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their partners, Prez Plebb be popping in to select best of breed for a personal tour of the Exec Lounge, and a ride in the Presidential Ford Focus

Excellent win and good first half performance, under the cosh second half which you would expect, but defence held firm, not a bad afternoon.

Impressive that he can do it. I found it a nightmare just trying to post some nonsense from the bar at the Tivvy game.
