| Good result for the Gas shame you missed it Jimmy. I'd rather we played Accrington than them if we get past the scum. |

| Good meaningless win.
Just the misery of the play-offs to go before yet another season from hell in this dog shit division is confirmed.
BRENT OUT NOW |

| Rooney's first was a world class finish, be sure to watch it tonight, Green Jim is sure to accept the first derisory offer he gets for this little gem, why he wasn't given his chance much earlier in the season is a bit baffling. |

My thoughts too perhaps now if he continues to work at his game he'll get more of a lookin next season. Who knows if Reid is still out Rooney could have just got himself involved in the playoff games |

| Enjoyable HP afternoon. Had my doubts about Harvey but there's no question that he can finish and see a pass-a well placed long range effort and a clinical finish after some great work by Wylde basically wrapped the game up in the first half. A Vardy like volley by Rooney the debutant was the highlight of the day-boy was he delighted, and rightly so. He set the seal on a memorable afternoon for him by scoring the fifth with a looping header off the post after Nelson had scored with a header from a corner to cap a good day-personally I would always rather play the second leg of a play off at home and Pompey's loss confirmed that would indeed be the case. Wonder if today's result has created some interesting selection questions for DA? The goalkeeper came in and let nobody down with a decent save or two and the contribution of Harvey and Rooney can't be faulted.Different scenario in the white heat of Fratton park of course but several people did their prospects no harm today in front of a 10000 crowd which was boosted by 500 very high spirited Pool fans. |

| However meaningless in the shake-up, that's a good result and pleased for the kids to grab a brace each. Got to be good for morale.
Have no idea if the Pompey geezer sent off is a key player? One subbed for injury too.
Christ knows what will happen over 2 legs in the play-offs.

I can't believe Rovers have snatched it, but well done to them. Now the fun and games begin in the lottery of the f...ing Play-Offs. |

Neither are easy games for us. |

| Be just as well to have Harvey & Rooney involved against Pompey. Remember how John Francis saw us off for Burnley in the '94 play-offs, & if I remember he was nowhere near the first team prior to the play-offs but clearly had a hunger for it. |

| I wonder how Roobs is getting on with his injury. I wonder if he would fancy a go on the Wembley turf. |

| Got home 10.40, Jeeze that beer takes its toll - don't think you'll see a better debut goal by Rooney but 4 shared with him and the prodigal son wow, futures' bright!! |

| There could not have been a better pre-play-off match than this.
Ok so Hartlepool were in flip flop and suncream mode and none of it mattered but even after about 20 minutes I liked the look of Rooney. He set up Tyler's second despite nearly having his shirt ripped off, left a mark on one of the defenders and nearly snaffled a rebound of the keeper (which he rather brilliantly saved).
Even at that early stage I remarked that he has a "touch of the Tynans" about him and then he went and scored a stunner and a scruffy late one.
If The Man himself had been there I'm sure he would have been nodding in approval.
We might well have a star on our hands here, chaps. |

| It won't be long before we can see the level of investment and where the interest of the new directors is focused. |
