| Well if their truly abysmal performance against the millionaire and billionaire property developer's abomination that is Oh So Plucky Little Salford FC ( ) is anything to go by, you could probably play the cleaning staff and comfortably win this one. |

| Relief for Plymouth Argyle defender Peter Hartley over foot injury who will face his own town on saturday However, Hartley has revealed to Herald Sport how he feared he would be out of action for three months with a broken foot.
He feared the worst after a training ground accident and was on crutches when Argyle lost 2-1 to arch rivals in the Devon derby on November 21. But further examination revealed the damage was actually osteophytes – bone spurs – and could be treated by injections.
Hartley returned to action in the 2-1 defeat by Cambridge United at Home Park last Saturday, when his unfortunate late slip allowed the visitors to grab a second goal.
Now he is preparing to play his first full game for an opposing side at Victoria Park, after making 181 first team appearances for Hartlepool earlier in his career.
"This is like Christmas has come early," said Hartley. "When the gaffer (Derek Adams) put me straight back in on Saturday I felt like I was making my debut.
"I couldn't sleep on Friday night because I was so excited to play. I was champing at the bit – it was scary.
"I had a little down patch about five days into my injury and was thinking the worst. I was still on crutches.
"I saw the club chaplain (Arthur Goode) and just said a little prayer with him for my foot, and obviously it must have worked."
The initial diagnosis was that Hartley would be out of action for three months but only a few days later he received much better news.
"I had mentally prepared myself for the worst," he said. "I was just doing a lot of upper body gym work and stuff, and I had my big space boot on.
"But I went to see a specialist and had a MRI scan, and when the results came back I found out I had a few osteophytes where the bone is chipped.
"I got an injection to settle them down and here I am now."
Hartley sustained his injury when he kicked the bottom of teenage midfielder Ryan Lane's foot during training session.
He said: "It opened up an old fracture where the bone had fused and calcified. I didn't even know about it.
"I have got a few floating bones in there so I had to get the injection to settle them down. Thank God it wasn't an actual fracture.
"The steroids (injections) take about four to six weeks to kick in. I'm feeling better every day and working hard on getting my fitness back."

| This will be a straightforward home win, any club that averages more than two thousand fans will have a bigger squad than Jimmy's. |

| Ronnie Moore has been rocked by the news that full-back Michael Duckworth is facing at least three weeks on a sidelines with a stomach strain.
The defender missed Tuesday night’s FA Cup replay win over Salford City with the problem and Pools boss Moore has confirmed he’ll be missing in to the New Year.
“It’s looking like Michael will be out for about three to four weeks,” he explained.
“So that right-back issue is a bit of a problem for us because Carl Magnay is struggling with a groin problem and Jordan Richards is only just coming back from a bad back injury.
“We’ll see how things go this week but we’ll have to make a late decision on that one
More news
Ronnie Moore faces an anxious wait to see if Hartlepool United skipper Carl Magnay is fit to face Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
First-choice right-back Michael Duckworth is already out while Magnay came off late on in Tuesday night’s FA Cup replay win over Salford City with a groin problem.
Moore rates Magnay’s chances as 30-70 which would leave him a choice between Jordan Richards, who has only just returned from a long stretch out with back trouble and Scott Harrison.
Harrison was exposed at Mansfield last month when he filled in for Duckworth with Moore wanting to keep Magnay in midfield where he has been so effective.
“It’s not brilliant at the moment to be hones,” said Moore.
“Ducky is going to be out for three or four weeks with a stomach muscle and Maggers we’ll have to wait and see.
“At this moment I would say it’s 70-30 against him being able to play.
“If he is not fit then we have a problem in that position.
“Jordy has only just returned from a bad back injury and Scotty played there at Mansfield and found it hard, but that was away from home.
“But he came on on Tuesday night and did pretty well there.
“I’m going to have to leave it to the last minute to se how Maggers is.”
There will be one definite change with Kal Naismith returning after missing the last three matches.
The on-loan Portsmouth winger has missed the last three fixtures – he was cup-tied against Portsmouth and was not eligible to play at Pompey last Saturday.

Wasn't the bloody coverage awful? Could they just have laid off the class of 92 shit a bit. Every five miniutes they were cutting to Nicky butt Funny how the Malaysian property development billionaire and owner of elite footballers' rights Peter Lim, is never to be seen in any of this fawning TV coverage - after all he owns part of Salford FC as well. He also owns a stake in the Neville's property development company - of course the fact that Salford FC's ground sits on a prime development opportunity has nothing whatsoever to do with the new owners' interest in that particular club. It will be interesting to see if the proposed new stadium - which they will surely need if they continuing obliterating their rivals with relative megamoney at their level - is built at Moor Lane, or whether a cheap new identikit stadium is built elsewhere while the Neville-Lim axis trousers huge sums from the luxury housing all those BBC execs and professionals flocking to the Northern powerhouse will need. It's also odd how little attention is devoted to the critics of Salford FC. For example the fans who left in protest at the Class of '92 changing fundamental things about the club without consultation in order to make them a mini-Manchester United - the kit, badge and so on. Apparently most of the current fans are post-Class 'of 92. You never hear the complaints from their rivals about them being a Frankenstein club who use money as a weapon in just the same way as other moneybags clubs who are more readily criticised. The ridiculous puff-piece of a "documentary" (or more correctly a reality show) made great play of the story of hard-nosed pros battling against the odds for the love of the game, without mentioning the fact that most of those players had an unusual pedigree for a club in Salford's position and were reportedly on relatively eye-watering wages. For example at the age of 25 Poole played over 100 games in leagues 1 and 2 for Hartlepool in the three previous seasons, but turned down another League contract with them in order to drop three divisions to allegedly "part-time" football and sign for Salford. Something tells me he's not on buttons. Similarly we had all that guff about the two hard-nosed salt-of-the-earth managers who were brought in from Ramsbottom to turn Salford's season around with blood, sweat and a few home truths. Nowhere did I see any mention of the fact that Ramsbottom were Salford's promotion rivals who almost had their season spiked when in mid-season Salford nabbed not only their managers, but six of their first-team players as well. The BBC disingenuously made it look as though Salford only took their star striker. "MAN UNITED CLASS OF ’92 INSPIRE REBELLION OVER POSSIBLE SALFORD CITY FC SHIRT COLOUR CHANGE
SALFORD CITY FC FANS FEEL VINCENT TAN MOMENT OVER NEVILLE AND GIGGS CLUB COLOUR CHANGE
`We're not Manchester United, we're Salford City FC…'" "Supporters are angry that there was no consultation with them over the takeover, that there were press reports – since denied – of a change of name and stadium. The views were represented by Paul Mac's `A View From The Crowd' page in a recent Salford City match programme…
"Last week's…story…read more like an act of terrorism from the Gang of Five than a takeover of a small club by a group of multi-millionaires. The proposal to change the name of the club to Salford '92 was egotistical, the move to the white elephant AJ Bell Stadium suicidal…[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Don't forget it was the same Salford FC Gary Neville who castigated Vincent Tan on TV for not understanding football tradition when he changed Cardiff City's shirt colour. They must have better PR than Brent.

Some Hartlepool fans have turned on him though. Short memories I guess. They'll probably cheer up after their inevitable win over us. I don't recall us ever winning up there other than an ultimately pointless 8-1 win on the last day of the play off season under Shilton |

| Cheery bunch aren't you?
It's a winnable game, if you aren't looking to beat the likes of the Pool you can say goodbye to the autos and the play offs, they are a poor team in poor form, a couple of weeks ago you were five points clear at the top, whining about a few injuries is no excuse, you will pick up plenty of points against sides with injury crises.
Come on guys, this is 4th division football, surely someone among you fancies it? |

Come on guys, this is 4th division football, surely someone among you fancies it? This was never a promotion season as we were always going to lose our best players in January. The injuries have merely brought the inevitable collapse of our season forward by a couple of months. Relegation/indifferent form will continue until the end of the season but hopefully we have enough points in the bag already for a lower mid-table finish. Today is completely unwinnable for Argo, we are a team in total disarray. I feel sorry for the poor saps travelling today all that way, blowing all that money the weekend before Christmas to watch us get completely outclassed and easily beaten yet again. BRENT OUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| If we lose again today, where does that leave us? obviously apart from our slide into obscurity (again) in this dog shit division - are we going to keep blaming our injury problems? Has DA been found-out? is it James Brent's lip? or the sleepless nights of the megalomaniac mug seller, Greenman? Players not playing for the manager because they know they're on their way out in January?
Something's going badly wrong and I can't put my coc..............finger on it, init!!

Gimme your hunches. 'Iinjuries',some players being offered shit renewed contract terms, and some players already being the subject of done deals (imo both things are linked to the lengthy 'injuries'). And some squad players are nowhere near good enough for this level. Basically good players not giving a shit and wanting to get away as soon as possible and the rest are just plain shit. BRENT OUT |
