lol! If this angle gathers momentum, the Trust will undoubtedly become the natural home for a few individuals, not currently interested.

Strangely enough, as I was contemplating this today (I was supposed to be working Very Happy ) the thought did occur that if a group of four put themselves forward as a slate, it would throw a real cat amongst the pigeons as far as other potential candidates were concerned. It also occured to me that if those four could find a group of supporters prepared to back them, and help with a bit of campaigning (leaflets at home games, that sort of thing) then things might get REALLY interesting.

Just saying.... Rolling Eyes

Can I take it for granted that the people putting themselves forward will represent season ticket holders as well as all other fans?

I don't think so.
It is to oversee (run) an election that will elect a body that it will have a seat on. Post election.. Just another one of seven reps who will make up the GasB. I think..?

So a GASB with no Club President, no GTs, not even Ian Neweell. Imagine that and with the opportunity for the Trust to have a member for each of the 7 seats. Couldn't happen surely! Except of course it could and the Trust wouldn't even have to run the election - it could be the University instead. There must be a catch ...... As you say GOB it could get interesting.

Squire Brent won't like it . The riff raff getting ideas above their station.

Can't allow this, they might start asking awkward questions.

Time to unleash the poodles again.

Yes, Richard. And not only will I ask about the free buses, I'll also pursue the questions of an outside smoking area AND the upkeep of the bricks.

So.... the GASB meets with the club 6 times a year. Presumably in between they are mingling and garnering fans' views.

Is that only to be done via the internet? Which forum(s) will that take place on? How will that remain independent of the forum(s) in question? Is the Trust web-site a more appropriate place?

If contact is to be made via other media - say, leaflets at the ground (presumably with volunteers to pick them up afterwards) or in the local press. Who would be paying for this?

Is TonyC's suggestion that the club could make contact via e-mail or address possible. What is to stop the club selecting - either from their own heads or, say, from the Trust - a number of questions and simply gather views from the respondents?

Will there be a process whereby more urgent issues to be raised outside the 6 meeting structure? If not who will have the ear of the club and how?

Will the club pay for all the incidental costs of the GASB?

What are the issues that the club will expect the GASB to cover? What will they not expect to be covered?

How will the GASB be accountable both in its week to week workings & meetings as well as in its more formal meetings with the club?

That's just a few questions to go..... too many unknowns at the moment.

Jock,

I used to consider him a friend of sorts. Not a mate, in the 'lend us a fiver' sort of way, not even a mate that I'd spend social time with. But I considered him someone I could talk about all things Argyle with, and I considered him trustworthy enough to share some fairly personal information with. And now he tries, in just about the least subtle way possible, to bring my personal problems into the public domain; just as I'm about to run for the GAS Board.

He also manages to imply that I was only interested in personal glory as a member of the Trust Board (given who his best mate is, can anyone else say 'ironic').

In short, he's a two-faced, duplicitous moron.

My only regret is that its taken this for me to realise it.

I love this piece of hypocrisy pig -

"Don't play that card, that's simply ridiculous. Your continuing tactic of playing to an audience is actually nauseating."

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Then in the locked thread "Auctions"-

People,

I have now heard that a person is mocking me for my decision to continue to auction items on this site.

I did say I was going to stop doing so, but the overwhelming response from people sending me PM's, was that I should continue as it was for the good of the staff payments.

So for that reason, I will coninue until the stocks are exhausted.

Perhaps the person involved in mocking me, can continue linking to porn, as he is seems to have a habit of doing that. But not on this site, because the Mods have banned him!

Mods, perhaps you could lock this one for me, as it's not for comment, just information. Thanks.

I saw the thread. I must say that I've been browsing Pasoti a bit recently and it has been refreshing not to see every thread dominated by him and CW but I see tonight he's back with a bang.

Who is the porn baron he refers to anyway?

Think it was on the old Argyle Talk site (when Newell was a Mod) and someone provided a link to Big Gay Bears- unfortunately you can guess the type of site that was displayed. The link was deleted fairly quickly (by the poster) and apology issued, but when you're playing to an audience...
