The narrowed filter onto the Plain from the fire station, what a joke that is. Another chance for people to hone their road rage. I just meet that, light green coming from town going on to Mutley one lane, nearly hit by a car coming from Greenbank also trying to go on to Mutley one lane. |

| Exactly, Tg. It's almost criminal in it's negligence. I can't believe they'll leave it like that, shorely. Maybe there's a contractor/customer stand off over money. |

| Hi James how do you like your school being built.
WORK has begun on a multi-million-pound studio school based at Plymouth's University of St Mark and St John.
Builders got to work on Plymouth Studio School's £4.2 million school building and high performance sport centre based at the university in Derriford today.
Students joined representatives of the school's sponsor organisations and top athletes in making the first concrete pour as building work got under way on the site.
The two-storey, three-block building – designed by Satellite Architects and being built by Kier Construction Western and Wales – is due to be completed in the autumn of 2016.
It will include a high performance sport centre equipped with all of the latest equipment and a medical lab for sport physiotherapy, power testing, functional screenings and physiological monitoring.
It will also include an indoor laser pistol shooting range suitable for modern pentathlon training and Olympic lifting platforms and a science laboratory, sixth form space and multi-use atrium.
Some of the equipment will also be used as a 'SmartGym' to help students develop mental focus, team work, self-control, confidence and evaluation skills.
The school opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 10 and Year 12 students in September while based in temporary accommodation at the Marjon campus.
A total of 300 students will attend the new school, with the next intake of 100 students starting in September 2016.
Principal Matthew Lennon said: "We're delighted that the new building is now under way and our students of all abilities will be able to benefit from the top level facilities which it will offer to help them reach their full potential.
"The space is ideally suited to our small class sizes, flexible timetables and individual approach to learning.
"It will also provide sport students with the world-class equipment, monitoring, coaching and science facilities needed to help them reach peak performance and pursue careers as sport coaches, therapists, scientists and physiotherapists."
Phil Davies, principal of City College Plymouth, the lead sponsor for the school, said: "We're delighted that the new building is under way and will help to provide a unique and exciting option for students as young as Year 10 to get a taste of real-life work experience and to gain the skills needed by today's employers."
Year 12 student Joe Tibbetts, Student executive director at the school, said he was already getting the most out of his studies. He said: "Plymouth Studio School is already providing me with a brilliant opportunity to combine my A-Levels with high-level swimming training, so it will be fantastic to have both the learning facilities and sport performance facilities together in own new building next year."
The next Plymouth Studio School open evening will take place on January 21 from 6pm to 8pm at the University of St Mark and St John |

| It's obvious. Oldway will be renamed Saltrock Mansion and will become a new end of line outlet store for Primark-quality surfwear. Foreshore. |

Plainmoor to be sold for housing and a retail park. Merger of Gulls and Greens. New club to be called "South Devon United", training at Seale Hayne and playing in new 12'000 seater Oldway Park. Brent saves on kit for the new club by signing a deal to buy old second hand Norwich kit for ten years, thereby "preserving the heritage of both the historic parent clubs for future generations". Excited?

| Regarding town, I think the Bretonside underpass should be kept. All that's going to happen there if they close it is constant traffic back-up, like what happens now on the hill going up past the Police Station after leaving Charles Cross - stupid place to put a pedestrian crossing, right after one of the CC's busiest roundabouts.
Do we really need another Cineplex? Not really. Vue is hardly queuing out the door, but, anything has to be better than the decades-old, urine-soaked monstrosity that's there now.
That Mutley junction...total death trap. Turning right onto the Plain from Alexandra Rd, have to keep your wits about you as people come charging down from North Hill. |

Agree we you totally but for the cineplex, only way to reach the vue is by car or taxi try and get a parking space, Bretonside is the right place and plenty of pubic transport. |

| The present Charles Church disaster is totally due to the approach to the Drake Circus car park. Nothing else. I no longer use Royal Parade and onto the viaduct. Only the uninitiated go that way.
I can see the logic of having an above ground pedestrian thoroughfare to the new complex. Far more people friendly and makes those businesses in the development accessible. The aim is to create a REAL coherent pedestrian connection between the centre, Bretonside, and as important, the Barbican. Not some 80s dystopian underground wind tunnel. The Royal Parade zebra crossing works far better than the underpass it replaced. It just needed suitable traffic calming measures. As for Mutley, yes, what a ludicrous waste of money, and an accident waiting to happen. |

| All cars should be ban from going through Royal Parade, Wait and see all the buses parked on Charles church roundabout when the lights are installed.
Under the viaduct there is to be a car-park and the underpass by Primark is to be left open only for the car-park use. |

You just can't help yourself can you. For your information the Mutley Plain junction scheme was paid for entirely by Aldi. It was part of the planning deal that enabled them to build their place in Greenbank. You consistently spout "facts" which are anything but. They are your interpretation of them. |

| How it was built, pointless I agree, has nothing to do with the money spent. It was not public money. |
