Don't forget Mr Webb, your uncalled for unsavoury tactics are a two way street. Any attempt to get under the Corbyn wing will see much made of your Tory connections, let alone what many posties think about their 100% dispensation Union man. he is a no one at the end of the day who tried to be someone and couldnt hack it. |

| President of PAFC is useful addition on his CV, he isn't going anywhere until Brent does, social climbing cnut that he is. |

| I think we should arrange a friend or someone who knows him to visit him and explain that we don't think he should remain as president. How about Kevin Heaney? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

Well that was meant to be my original point before I got sidetracked.
I am sure I heard once, probably on here, a confident statement that Chris Webb was not a regular in Block 3 or on the away terraces before the Argyle shit hit the fan.
It seems that Webby has grown bored of bothering with Argyle any more. Noone sees him, no one hears from him, presumably he is not attending home or away matches currently.
So my question is this. Was Chris Webb ever a real Argyle fan, or did he use merely use Argyle's demise as a vehicle for self promotion? A foot hold into gaining a proper profile among a wider group of people other than local postmen, and a real opportunity to step into South West politics?
Now that he has used the title of President to boost his CV and milked it for all it is worth, now that the opportunities for publicity are pretty scant (what can you 'campaign' about when the club's debts are reducing and the team is top of the table?), is the love affair with our little PAFC over? That's more or less how I see it as well. He really got wrapped up in the publicity at every opportunity thing. Hijacking the Olympic letter boxes idea, the ill fated Forza Verde, the newspaper column, presidents progress etc. I think he envisaged career in local politics leading on perhaps to bigger things and was looking to promote himself as much as the club. My nephew worked for the post office for years at ths Plymouth sorting office and a few years ago when Webb's profile was at its peak I mentioned his name and he had never even heard of him despite him being his union man. He said he didn't get involved in the union stuff like most down there. |

| What's not to love about a man
who speaks out against fat cat pensions but was happy to watch a parcel of public land pass directly into a fat cat personal pension plan without raising a fetid eyebrow
who is happy to use a quote from one of the most hated men ever to cross the threshold of home park and would have happily put the club out of business on his own the website
who is happy to give himself the determiner 'the'
who was happy to play a part in the club captain going to pastures new
who was happy to see a former director on the pitch and even offer to buy him a pint at a time when most people thought it too early for said director to be anywhere near the club
who is a dyed in the wool left wing socialist who was happy to advise a bluest of blue tory in how to get elected
who on the reappointment of said director to the board said he would never grace the directors box again and published a long polemic to his adoring fans only about it to grace the directors box again
who suggested plymouth fans sing the pompey chimes
who will say he stands up against bully but used his position to bully a fan out of writing for the club programme
not sure who fits the bill on all of the above though |

| Anyone who uses the word "the" before their name on a website thinks far too highly of themselves |

Will subtitles be available? I've never heard someone who so consistently gets their words muddled - incoherent like his brain can't keep up with his mouth. He's fine in front of an audience though |

Haha. Caught with his pants down! Die hard labour socialist who advises a warmonger Tory in a crucial constituency. Committed justice campaigner on behalf of the unpaid staff of the administration era, who apparently cannot stand by and watch Wrathall come back on board, then is offering him half of his prawn sandwich. The man's principles are clearly very dear to his heart!! |

| The Chris Webb to find these little gems....if you haven't had a look it is well worth it. - James Brent wrote:
- His role was to help Plymouth Argyle better engage with supporters and provide a conduit between them and the Board
Well that's going well Chris. I can find testimonials on there from Brendan Guilfoyle and even Mr Newell himself but not one from Johnny Mercer, although to be fair Chris is pretty honest that work comes before principle... - Website wrote:
- The result for Chris, politically does not sit with any one party. He is respected across all political colours and seen as somebody that can drive positive change.
No review of this collection of Chris' talents would be complete without the king of references from a man who has acted selflessly throughout his career for the benefit of others. - Peter Ridsdale wrote:
- I have no hesitation in endorsing Chris in his future business activities
When I first saw it I thought someone had set up a spoof website. |
