Did I go to sleep last night and wake up with Victoria and Albert on the throne ?
Some rich business has just 'donated' 5 grand to the urchins that work on the Gardner and Todd estates and all of a sudden yestyerday's baying pigs are clapping and cheering this latest alms money. With Ridsdale's timing planned to perfection with today's League meeting, what's the odds on a standing ovation at Home Park. Split second timing ... all of it. No doubt one of the staff will now post how grateful they are to receive a tenth of what they contracted for.
Henceforth, this date will be known as the Day of the People.

Truly sickening................... and so predictable. Just like the meek acceptance of our place in the grand scheme of things. Those who revelled in the supposed pinnacle of ambition, of being an established championship club............. there is no such animal. You look to move on or you regress. I remember it well, how the farm and the wallet complained that it was all the fault of apathetic janners. Those apathetic janners must also have known full well what was coming next.

In honour of 'The Day of the People', I've decided to throw an impromptu street party
All are welcome ... I've chucked up a couple of tressle tables, Some Demport mates are hauling their last six weeks wages up from Mutton Cove as we speak, and the local farmer has kindly donated some bundles of furze faggots to enable us to cook said sheep. A Northern friend is looking in his dustbin for something to eat, he's found a dead rat and thinks it will be a treat. My cat's cat's out scouring for leftovers from her Ladyship's table, and all will be washed down with copious amounts of fermented turnip juice. If you have any food at all, bring it.
Sound good ? ... get yourselves down here, and don't forget to beg or borrow a joey ... there will be a mandatory collection alll in the cause. Even Napoleon is coming and has agreed to slip his wrists into his Cock of the Week stocks for the cause. It's People's Day ... forget your travails ...let's party !!!
