cool I broke my father's Reg Harris frame (whoops) more than 20 years ago. Now I ride a 1988 Specialized steel framed thing. I gave it a re spray last month and put some newer (1989) stuff on it. |

| I serviced my racing bike yesterday and am planning on spraying it in the winter after the swallows shit on it last year. Their shit is literally like caustic soda. I only noticed the sticker under where I normally keep my bike lock yesterday and the bike was hand built on a 531 steel frame all the rage in the day, cost me £10 at the auctions and I sold the old leather Brooks racing seat for £85 on eBay. |

| mmmmmm Brooks and 531, the stuff of dreams. My old road bike was 531, found some pictures of it the other day, it did look nice. The specialized cost €20, and a lot of fettling to get it rideable, you had a cracking deal there Mr amster. |

Youngs of Lee High Road, Lewisham, S London.......a mecca for bike enthusiasts in the late 1950's/1960's.... you could be bumping shoulders with some of the best time trialists and road racers around at the time there.....beautifully hand made frames with all the top continental equipment on them....a few of my mates during that time had done their National Service in the Army Cycling Team riding all over Europe...never put a uniform on ever....lucky devils. |

| Ernie Young died last year. The shop sounds like it was a great place to be if you were into cycling. |
