The thing is John you think the world may change I know it won't, I'd love a dose of socialism and humanism but I don't think it will happen, all the realism does is makes you depressed, load your pockets and get the feck out, Tis the modern way. flower

I am truly surprised by this sort of comment, half the voters voted Tory or Kipper because they are doing quite well and want to keep on doing so, voting out of perceived self interest is not moronic, at worst it is selfish which should not imho class one as the spawn of Satan.

A Labour Government under Drop Dead Ed would have pretty much the same constraints as the Tories, they would not be doing anything radically different, if you believe they would then I would suggest you might want to reappraise where moron status might be appropriate, Ed Balls is the same animal as George Osborne, he is just, quite literally, the poor man's version.

Iggy, you sound a depressed soul. Lighten up, the world doesn't have to change, it's just the seasonal/cycular nature of life. Culture and politics are not immune to that rythm. Are you always like this when you go a goal or two down ? Wouldn't get into my team with that sort of attitude.
You dig in, and step up your game. You know, Plan B and all that. Kick out the likes of Blair and Brent, these sorts don't last any longer than Bevan or Wilson. Get some fresh blood in that want to win. The Scots are doing a fine job for themselves at the moment.
You should be sailing off into the sunset in any case, capitalism, socialism or no.

PS. Cameron ain't Barcelona, he isn't even Bournmouth on Russian steroids. He's just plain old Oxford or Cambridge United having a bit of a run like they always do. They won't get far, they haven't the ability. Beards are still in and will be for 5 years, and then they won't be. And so it goes on, throb, throb, throb.
And at last, after many years, one comment from the Exeter chap that I can agree with. Of course people should vote for their self interest. Why shouldn't they. That's the whole point. People have just forgotten what community means, and that it IS in their interests. Whether they get it is quite a different matter. Trouble is Blair made a mockery of it. Anyway, he's history. I heard tonight Chilcott is blowing out his backside again. What a surprise Laughing palace politics.

Like quite literally bending over whilst £24k was taken off every working person in the country to prop up the banks and then as a result of that policy have their health and public services budgets cut and supporting the Tories to do it again even harder is feckin moronic behaviour of the highest order. What are the banks doing with all the cash now they've recovered? Despite the low interest rates they aren't lending to anybody much.

Those that voted ukip or Tory weren't necessarily doing particularly well they'd been convinced that the reason they weren't was a combination of their own fecklessness and the old favourite "the profligacy of the previous labour government" . Which is risible when George Osborne has added more new debt than every Labour government combined

The conservatives won because they manipulated the message very well, destroyed the lib dems, painted labour into a tight corner,

And Milliband tried to be the same as the Tories hoping no one would notice he's a fecktard with no ideas at all. Feckin Labour fecked themselves up, Milliband can't even eat a bacon sandwich without making himself look a cnut he's hardly pm material.

If comrade Corbyn does win as expected it will be very interesting to see who is prepared to serve under him on the shadow cabinet.

Labour members must have shit for brains if they vote for that Deadhead! Watch the Stock market soar when they know there wont be a labour government for at least the next twenty years!

I wouldn't be so sure Suffs. If the labour carried on trying to find another Blair we deffo would see twenty years of Tory rule. What with the SNP taking all the traditional labour heartland from them Labour as we know it is dead anyway. We need a new kind of politics more geared up to looking after the country and not this look after the top ten per cent and they'll look after you which is clearly bullshit.
Come on Jezza shake the fookers up?
Ps. That's unless the party rig the vote but luckily we aren't some backwater of south America (or Nth lol) where that sort of thing goes on.

If Blair or Mandelson still have any influence I wouldn't rule it out.

Doesn't look good that thousands of people never received a ballot paper.

Mainly because he's leaving to do his job as MP full-time. Sounds like Zak Goldsmith will be the Tory candidate.

cheers queen Let's hope this is the end of Blairite Thatcherism dressed up as a parody of socialism. Contrary to popular belief I reckon Cameron will be shitting himself, he must do now with opposition to the loony right. Lovin his speech, more power to the jezzmeister.
