| 3 1
Watkins battled to win the ball on the right flank and found Davies, who curled one into the far corner from 20 yards |

A bit concerning that we seem to be conceding more goals against pub teams lately, than we were against League opposition.
Sort it oot Adams ya wee fookin tossbag. |

| Baggo match report full of the usual excuses and 'green tintery'
quote: "their unbeaten three games so far under Derek Adams" - that would be against the mite of Elburton, Bideford and Bath then? Hardly the invincibles are we?
quote: "against a home side that is little more advanced in their preparations for the new season" - erm, Bath are an amateur side, so how can guys who spend half their days sat in offices or on building sites, be 'more advanced in their preparations' than a pro side? Why are we less advanced then an amateur outfit?
Basically our starting 11 (minus Reid) got held by a side two leagues below the league we are supposed to be aiming for promotion from. That's the long and short of it. With apparently no new permanent signings to come, my expectations are plummeting.

| We DID also draw with Bath away last season (before we came 7th with 71 points) and they only lost 1-0 to Bristol City a few days but don't let that stop the en masse self-flagellation by any means.
And this is coming from someone who (this season, albeit not last) does have serious questions and concerns about the budget. |

And this is coming from someone who (this season, albeit not last) does have serious questions and concerns about the budget. The worrying aspect about it all is that Sheridan is going to be blamed throughout the season for any deficiencies and the serious concerns that you talk about won't be addressed in any relevant way. Just look at some of the posts on PASOTI tonight and the tone of some of Errington's "journalism" recently. Can't be arsed to even reply to any of the shit anymore-I just hope that some of the super optimists and euphoria merchants aren't in for a very rude wake up call, that's all. No self flagellation here, far too near bedtime for a start and possibly not an accurate description of the general ATD zeitgeist anyway. |

| Pre season friendly results don't interest at all really but its not encouraging to drop a 3-0 lead. |

No self flagellation here, far too near bedtime for a start and possibly not an accurate description of the general ATD zeitgeist anyway. I don't deny that there is some sensible discussion on here Greenskin but you can't also deny there's a tendency towards hysteria (this pre-season and the last three) whenever pre-season results go badly even though there's countless examples of teams suffering some truly embarrassing pre-season results then going on to have an exceptional season. For example, before the 102 point season we drew 1-1 with Saltash United. Before we came 8th in League One we lost 2-0 to Tiverton Town. Before we came 1st in League One, we drew 1-1 with what I remember was basically an Austrian pub side named Bad Aussee. That's the sort of thing I mean. When people hysterically shriek 'well it's only about fitness isn't it' with more than a hint of sarcasm...well, actually, it is. Any manager in the world will tell you, whether things are going well or badly or somewhere in between, not to read too far into pre-season results. I agree with you the budget seems to be drastically reduced for whatever reason and that's a concern. I also agree with you Sheridan will probably get too much blame if things don't go well. That said, I think it's not unreasonable to assume that a team largely used to a counter-attacking style having to adopt to a more attacking one may experience a temporary transition period. It may result in us sitting far deeper than Adams would like on occasions such as this tonight. But I don't think that excuse can or should last forever. It's just something that may temporarily stall us. |

| New Manager.....new ideas......new tactics.....new players.....new training methods....new etc,etc. isn't pre-season games about obtaining fitness and the new ideas a new man brings.
Our defence had been successful last season because of a defensive mind-set with mid-field support. Adams is bringing a more attack minded set-up and defenders are not getting the same support that they did last year......they need to learn these new tactics.
We are playing with two strikers who are scoring every week.....we're not used to that......I know the opposition isn't Div 2 level but we need to be patient and hope that mistakes like last night.....i.e losing a 3-0 are learnt now when league points are not at stake. |
