I couldn't help but be impressed with Ainsworth and the job he's done whipping that Wycombe team into contenders, would not mind a gaffer like that running our show. The Wycombe team spirit made all the difference, whereas Argyle heads silently hung low after every goal as Sheridan screamed obscenities at them. Couldn't help but notice that. Perhaps Ainsworth learned from the feck up he made of it the season before when he nearly took them out of the league. He hasn't got them promoted yet-there is a possible scenario [which would apply to Argyle as well] of the big anti climax after losing in the play offs, a la Argyle in 1995 and Leyton Orient this year to name but two. That would certainly test his motivational powers, which didn't seem up to overcoming a rather poor home record for Wycombe this year but credit where it's due, they mastered the art of winning away from home very effectively. Don't like the smarmy, posing tosser personally, never did have much affection for him when he was a player with QPR, although he was a very useful winger and I wouldn't hold any animosity towards him if by any extreme chance he should become Argyle manager. |

Imagine coming into work to find Brent who looks like one of those people clapping out of time at a Dire Straits concert, Safe hands Starnes and the rest of it run by fans on websites and an entertainment complex that would not be out of keeping at a scouts jamboree.
This club is stagnating. Brent has not got any money and would get out, but only on his terms. Starnes is there to keep the ship on Brent's course and the fans are always willing to top up the additional funds whilst glorifying in their role as the most loyal bunch of failures "the world has ever seen". Love that description of Brent there at a Dire Straits gig (perish the thought) made me larf so it did, and uncannily accurate! |

| Sheridan is certainly taking his time to tell the club what he intends to do.
Sheridan is dragging this out and the longer it goes on the worse for Argyle it could well become.
Brent should demand to know what is going on and that demand should have a fixed date IE - Thursday May 28.
If Sheridan has not replied by the date given, then Brent can get rid of him and start looking for a new manager.
Argyle do not want to be playing catch-up with pre-season stuff [but it looks like that may happen ?].
Other League Two sides have already signed new players, are sorting out of contract related business and arranging pre-season friendlies. Meanwhile, Argyle are in limbo land and it is yet another shambolic episode they could well do without.
X Isle over on PASOTI is spot on with his views.
We have 78 days until the season starts, knock off 30 or so for when the players are back in for training and you've got 45 say. Kicking our heels for a fortnight would leave us just 31 days.
If he committed in two weeks time then OK, that's still do-able. But even then that's a whole month we've lost since the end of the regular season while other clubs, clubs with certainty, have been bury preparing, busy offering contracts to potential signings of ours.
But if he did jump ship in two weeks? (and whose to say he wouldn't take even longer, do it even later?). We'd then need 2-3 weeks to source and appoint a new manager, leaving him just a handful of days to get a squad together for pre-season.

Dont forget Brent will still have to pay sheridan up for the year if he gets fed up and sacks him. the best we can hope for is sheridan either says im staying or resigns meaning no pay off. There is plenty of time before panic mode sets pre season wise, its not like the old days where we organise trips to Austria and Sweden we will be based at marjons and play local teams with hopefully a decent team or two thrown in as a testing game for the squad. So if we have a new maager nothing will change there. |

| I have just seen the latest rumour over the way there and it suggests Sheridan is staying and is busy trying to line up three players, one a pacey 26 year old striker from Oldham Athletic apparently.
If he is staying, then i can't see the club letting us know that. Sheridan will just turn up for work after his break and it will be business as usual. |

| Whatever we may think Sheridan played when footballers were not made for life. Agonisingly he was probably 10-15 years too old. His salary now will be okay but nothing to shout about. I would be astonished if he's paid more than 80k a year.
He is just like you and me but living his job insecurity in the public eye. How many of you are unhappy in your jobs and looking around? Do you tell your bosses?
Yes, he's probably having a butchers at what is out there but if nothing materialises he'll be our manager next season because he cannot afford to walk away from a contract. He'll be hard pressed to find a good job in Yorkshire now Neil Redfearn's on the market.

| Wouldn't be a surprise although it's a mad house. I was in Leeds for a few days this week and given their shoddy treatment of Redfearn and the subsequent appointment of Rosler, a move for Sheridan would retain a link with the supporters. |

Plus with that circus being in the mess its in, if he accepted a job there as assistant he will be unemployed come halloween as is the way up there. Celino is one massive fruit loop |

It is either a slow news day or there is something in the headline. My money is on slow news day. I have now bought the paper and read the article. Not much in there that we did not know already. The article goes on to say that fans would no doubt welcome this combo [ not myself, that is for sure] and that a decision on the future of Sheridan must be resolved sooner rather than later. |

| Don't get the obsession with former managers. It rarely works & in the case of Sturrock Mk2 was an unmitigated disaster. Why not someone like Wayne Burnett who has done wonders in getting Dagenham to mid-table on a tiny budget. In his prime Warnock only just managed to get us out of this division after spending shed loads of money, almost certainly more than the combined total of all the other teams in our league. |

| If Sheridan goes the bloke who should get the job is the same as the bloke who should have got it last time: Keith Hill.
Sadly he was up-for-grabs then but isn't now.
He was then, and remains still, the right man. |

| The fact is nobody knows what will happen with a new manager. He could have been great at his previous club but crap with us or vice versa but please not a 3 year contract next time. |

Defends Sheridan [living in Leeds since his appointment] for some time. Results don't go as absurdly anticipated and section of fanbase turns against Sheridan. Turns with the wolf pack on the manager. Now manager must be locally based. Says it all really. |
