Of course not... You bail them out, who knows what Plymouth sports team might have to be next.... they already bailed out argyle many times and allowed raiders to play rent free at the pavillions saving them countless £ so may aswell chip in and help Albion. Maybe one day Plymouth's professional sports teams can attrac owners who know what they are doing and have money so they can achieve things instead admin threats eear after year |

| I think the council have a moral obligation to help Albion, they've given endless support to the football club(biggest sports club in Plymouth) so a fraction of that support should be given to the rugby club(2nd biggest sports club in Plymouth) As Angry said even the Raiders who play some sort of American shit(netball?) have received council aid fcol! |

| The loan to PAFC is at least 'secured' by land, what security would Albion offer? or should taxpayers just make a gift? |

Like the PAFC two year rent holiday @ £130K/annum. That should do the trick |

| I happen to think that some of my council tax should be used to support sport, but not a private failing business. |

| Why has rugby chosen to follow the very worst aspects of football's financial model? Rugby is like a turkey that has voted for Christmas. The implications for what it has chosen for itself have been writ large in the football industry for, I dunno, around 20 years now.
That said the case for council support of Albion is exactly the same as the case for it supporting Argyle. It was right to support Argyle as it did and it will be wrong not to do similar for Albion.
After that it really is time for government at national level to get a grip on this. Every time such a club folds, or nearly folds, it costs both the Treasury and the council money that it has every right to expect as income and then more as it directly or indirectly bails the club out.
If ambitious entrepreneurial types want to gamble recklessly with the futures of our hallowed sporting institutions then they should do so with their own money and not that from the public purse.
This isn't simply something that could not have been avoided - it never is - it is a direct consequence of policies from the top downwards concerning the distribution of money within the sport; those policies are criminally (morally at least) negligent and could be changed - and should be changed immediately.

| The RFU to put it bluntly dont give a feck about any team beyond the current 12 in the premiership. They never have and never will.
Whether Albion survive the future will remain bleak for them and other teams in the championship and below until the RFU starts to get a grip and support it more. Otherwise they may aswell just make the premiership a promotion/relegation free zone and do away with the football league system of rugby and have revert to amateur status. |
