| Reading a BBC article about how they contacted all League 1 and 2 clubs about the possibility of signing Evans. Pretty much everyone either ignored the contact and did not respond, said it had not been discussed or answered saying they 'would not take him on'.
Bar a few clubs. Oldham in discussions. The others were Preston, Barnsley (heavily linked) and us who replied with 'no comment'. Now, whilst just two words it could mean different things.. Chances are if we weren't interested we would say it hadn't been discussed or ignore it, but this reply bothers me.
Perhaps I'm paranoid but is there something more to it? I do wonder. Wouldn't surprise me.. |

| I saw him crossing Stonehouse Bridge a couple of days ago with his little kid on a bike, Trigger was a great player for us but surely well past his best regarding a comeback ? Argo lege though. |

| Obviously you can read what you like into "no comment".
For my part I suspect that the enquiry ended up on some poor sap's desk on one of the 4.5 out of 5 days per week when Brent was not there and so they gave the most non-committal answer they could think of hoping not to drop themselves or anybody else in the poo.
On the other hand it may a considered response prepared in advance from on high. This would be quite reassuring because no matter whether we like it or not the McCormick parallel was always going to be evoked by somebody somewhere, and it has been - repeatedly - and so the club, McCormick himself and, most regrettably of all, the family of the children he killed are all dragged back into the spotlight and are forced to confront tragic events that I'm certain everybody wishes had never happened all over again.
"No comment" hardly suggests that Evans is heading due south pronto, could even be representative of some adequate arse-covering or, welcomely, might even be a considered strategy.
I wouldn't read too much into it. |

I think it highly unlikely that Trigger will be coming back, the word on Alma Road though is that Stewart Evans is very much on Argyle's radar. |

| Zackly Dougie, the BBC asked the question not Evans agent, put yourself in the shoes of the guy/girl answering the phone. BBC. Hi we are doing an article on Evans which may get seen by millions of people and we wish to ask all football clubs the same question, would your club sign Evans, either answer, A) Yes and get dragged thought he shite by every pressure group in the country that hates footballers and or men. B) No and run the gauntlet of the pro reformist camp. (probably easier than A) IMO.) C) No comment. If I was the boss at Argyle I would be pissed right off if anybody had said anything different than C). |

| Most clubs said no comment.
I personally have more affinity with the clubs who said 'not with a bargepole'. However, I guess the McCormick situation Argyle could hardly have done that without creating more of a shitstorm than there needed to be. I agree with SFD here. Nothing to be read into. |

| End of the day if there wasnt this charlie webser lead media/social media witch hunt most clubs despite what he did would jump at the chance to sign a proven goalscorer at club and international level on a free and if ched is smart on lower wages than a player with his pedigree would demand.
The conviciton as we have seen with Lee Hughes, Luke and many others will be a side issue no matter what it is. If you have the talent someone will take you. |

Was the car outside that Kanu sold to Robbie Fowler? |
