Too many boys and not enough men in the team.

In my opinion all good away teams have pace up front and we just don't have any.
Nathan Thomas has it in abundance but doesn't get a chance because I feel Sheridan believes he lacks in his defensive duties.
It breaks my heart as he is the most exciting player I have seen at Home Park in a long time. I really believe if he is given a run of games he would rip this league apart.
Why Sheridan wont trust his goalkeeper, his defence and his defensive midfielders totally baffles me.
In fairness to Sheridan our home form is very good but I still feels he is holding us back as I feel the quality in our team is very good and I wouldnt swap many for other players in our league.

How do you work that one out, if you don't mind me asking? Looking at the team sheet, there were plenty of experienced players on the pitch for Argyle, only Kellett and possibly Bobby Reid could be described as boys. More like the over reliance on Reid and Alessandra to score the goals-it may be significant that two of Argyle's away wins this season have come with contributions from midfielders or defensive players, which is a must for any successful team and just isn't happening on anything like a regular enough basis. Tactical or personnel? Don't really know but looking at the scoring records of the players outside of the front two doesn't fill you full of confidence that the problem is going to be solved from within-love to see a Joe Bryan or early Banton type signing.

Apart from a few exceptional seasons in the club's history our away form has always been a bit crap. Long distance travel is never ideal plus, as SFD alludes, experience does count at this level.

I meant mentally rather than in terms of age.

Looking back at Sturrock's mob there was a spine through the team that won on will power as much as ability: Larrieu, Worrell, Coughlan, Wotton, Friio, Hodges, Trigger... Loads of 'em throughout the team. Proper "men" footballers. Winners. The same with Dave Smith's Pilgrims: Crudgie, Gerry Mac, Uzzell, Coughlin, Matthews. Tynan, Nelson, Hodges...

Games like Newport away and York were games made for the likes of them. Even before the start of the Newport game, once I saw the conditions, I predicted that we'd struggle and we did. It's not about ability because I genuinely believe we have oodles of that. It's heart.

We just don't have that. Not enough of it anyway.

the lack of a good enough left footed left back. forcing us to use 3-5-2 too much space behind wing backs, with the players we have, I would go 4-5-1 away.............

No.

I know somebody who shares your initials. Obviously just a coincidence.
