And the future expansion... That's just bullshit (the corners apart - and that's only because the plan to sell 'em failed!). It's incredible that such talk is entertained by anybody any more but to recap:
* It is impossible to add a tier to the horseshoe * Restricted view seats could be added to the existing rake at a price that makes it uneconomic to do so * There will never be any addition to the grandstand because it'll be totally fenced in by HHP-lite * The Devonport End could be replaced but at a price that makes it economically impossible to do so
Anybody that seriously thinks Home Park will be expandable at some point in the future is suffering from delusions and needs help. Or lying through his teeth. Your word over the contractors hey? No, just anyone with a bit of common fekkin sense. That latest article really is pure propaganda, shame on the Herald for giving such nonsense a voice. I do like Chris Errington and the majority of his articles, but that paper really is a crock of shit. It's the self-righteous attitude of Webb that winds me up. You can publish that bias, manipulative and simply bullshit article without any concerns, but to counter its nonsense you become a keyboard warrior?! If you're going to use the internet as a platform to voice your rubbish, expect it to be the place where you receive feedback also. |

| Shorely the Herald would be a great place for the AFT to publish a reply to Webbs piece challenging the capacity issues, short and to the point? |

Bit needy isn't it. But the answer would seem to be No. The The's wittering clickbait article doesn't seem to be online. |

| Yep.
There is honour in what they are doing and they'll get a fresh start unhindered by historic debt.
However low they have to go to start again they'll be a big fish in a small pond and will quickly rise back to a level that is acceptable to them.
I think Edgar Street is council-owned too so there's no reason that they should even lose their ground or that they could be undone by greedy property speculators ever again.
It's all good, really, compared to the likely alternatives and it can be done as Chester FC have shown.
You can only wish them well. I know I do. |

That's an interesting point actually. At what point does salvaging a limping shadow of what once was from the wreckage actually become so pointless as to be not worth the bother? The whole admin process royally pisses me off. Why should unsecured creditors get totally shafted and yet secured crditors get more leverage and football creditors get paid in full? This is essentially the motor that drives the whole bloody crazy, cheating and corrupt soccernomics model. It's bloody wrong on every possible level and when it comes down to it it amounts to being a subsidy applied to only one industry and who is paying for it? Everybody whether it is your team or another or even if you hate the feckin game and have no interest at all. Football as an industry is a repeatedly offending benefit scrounger in all but name - and don't give me any of that "what about the taxes they do pay?" shit. I pay taxes, you pay taxes, everybody pays taxes. It is a legally enforceable duty not a bloody choice. "What if the "talent" wants to go overseas?" So what. See ya, buddy. The airport is over there. Don't let me keep you. If a club folds it should be ditched completely. Bye bye. Those responsible for it folding should be held either financially responsible or banged up at Her Maj's Pleasure for as long as is appropriate. It would hardly ever happen at all then, would it? All of this reckless spending simply fuels ever greater player wages, transfer fees and admission costs and it is always justified as "so-and-so is doing it and so we have no choice" but they do and so do we and if they start it then we are just as culpable for going along with it. What's worse: losing a game or two you might have otherwise won and dropping a division or going out of business because your gamble failed? Teams get relegated and promoted every year. It's an integral part of our competition and should not be so unthinkable that a business plan collapses as a result. The system such as it is an outrage and nobody should be accepting of it or an apologist for it. Nobody at all. |

| Good for them. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be part of a new football club in the way that this is happening, and it seems like they have the right people at the helm. Hopefully we'll see them nearer to us again in a few years time. |

When the great British public can accept quantative easing (described as the largest redistribution of wealth in modern times) with barely a whimper (cost every family in the uk £24k and mainly went to bankers) then are you surprised that all the football fan portion of Britain are bent over the turnstiles with their trousers down and a tub of Vaseline in hand? I do agree with you on all points it's the apathy that gets me. |

| The great moneywank at the top is what causes all the trouble at the bottom. It makes no difference whatsoever to Chelsea, Man Yoo, Arsenal, Spurs etc whether they charge £5 or £80 for a ticket, but the fact that they are so far ahead financially means that 'the likes of' (I hate that phrase, but it'll do for want of a better one) Aston Villa, Sunderland and Everton have to charge ridiculous ticket prices too. The domino effect works its way down, leading to the ridiculous situation where us schmucks have to pay £22 to watch a game of fourth division football. I hate the football business. |
