| I'd have it as 'see no evil' to the left, 'see no good' to the right, pragmatists to the centre.
The left say we won't ever get shafted, the right say we will get shafted, the middle say let's wait and see.
PS - send my regards to Charlotte BBC1. |

PS - send my regards to Charlotte BBC1. Should I know this Charlotte? I can think of 2 real charlotte's. One just got married a couple of weeks ago, the other is 7 and one of our friends daughter. Or was it cryptic and did you mean the one from Number of the Beast? |

On this forum, yes. Also doing Sonisphere this year. Maiden on the Saturday night, with Bruce taking part in a 'dog fight' at 6pm. |

| The reluctant one and his friends on the council were in cahoots well before admin. Once he had easily bought the support of the Windsor Boys with AAA passes, the control and manipulation of the local activists [bucket rattlers] was ensured, as they clamoured for their piece of the action. We saw it all coming and the devious tricks played by the fine gentleman's loyal servants, to discredit and silence educated w@nkers[ apart from GC of course, as he'd be far too dangerous if he turned against them], has cemented the scorn and mistrust in which these toadies are now held by anyone of any integrity. Of course, they will continue to preach and bucket rattle from their farm, in the tents at HP and no doubt should the Trust ever be inspired to actually do something other than conduct surveys and collect for charity, these self same brent worshippers will seemlessly transform into natural Trust leaders, with Symons and co pushed back into the wilderness. 'Peeps, look how much I did and am still doing in the war !' |

No one is saying that Phil, well I'm certainly not.
What I am saying is that in my opinion without HHP our club is in trouble again.
Nothing about people being 'happy to see' - although saying that, I do believe that certain people are more interested in popping at the 'Ex Banker' and 'Old Etonian' than anything else, but again, that is merely my opinion.
I am sure people like GreenSam, Dunlop and Spowell (as examples) care as much about Argyle as I do, but I'm not sure that everyone is as nervous about our club as I am.
I'd love a 22,000 capacity, I really would, but not if it means the pack of cards will fold.
Hope that explains my comments. and - 10.06am, wrote:
- Ok, I'll go with your comments for the sake of debate, now Grumps, what would YOU do at this juncture.
IF, and it's a big one, you are correct in what you say, and without the benefit of any hindsight, what would YOU do now? - 10.38am wrote:
- That's the question that's been losing me sleep Sam, it really is.
In one way, I've never been so close to my club and yet I've never been so worried about it.
The answer is from me, press ahead, support fully HHP and hope that Bretonside gets knocked back and the development goes ahead.
I'd rather sit next to you and Mike moaning about the size of the stand than driving up to Torquay and watching my local team in action. and - 11.45am wrote:

Who in their right mind would come to a CENTRAL Park, when they have the alternative of a waterside development?
Whilst some of us might think the sun shines out of Home Park, I doubt whether visitors aware of the alternatives would.
I'm not involved in council circles in any way, but I doubt whether this has helped HHP in any way. Is it the sun sending him mad? Shooting fish honestly |

| It would appear that even the dimmest of Avivas on the farm are beginning to understand the medium and long term negative effect 'brent's blunder' will have on the potential of PAFC. They now seem to 'get' that the ground will be smaller, the corners taken for schools n dental surgeries and much of the potential revenue streams will go to the reluctant one and not the club. They are suggesting tarting up the grandstand, putting seats back into the Mayflower and making the corners part of the horseshoe. Well that's not going to happen because there is nothing in it for st james.
At similar clubs potential wise, like Hull and Swansea, their new builds had a dramatic effect on attendance figures because they were ambitious and forward looking. The same could happen at Argyle. If I had influence/position within the Trust I would be lobbying for the Trust to make a major issue out of the ground and ownership of PAFC. Why shouldn't the fans own the club and develop the ground with imagination and vision ? I'd be happy to buy into a share issue and if it was done with maximum exposure I think a few wealthier fans would also buy in. Maybe the council could be persuaded of the benefits to the city of an attractive and inspiring finish to the ground, with no schools, dentists or retail outlets ? Are these musings pie in the sky or could they work if led by a determined Trust ? I'm no businessman but if HHP does happen, the football club will be nothing but lower league for generations, scraping by, failing to inspire playing staff and the fanbase alike. |

| HHP is a flimsy business premise if it's affected by the Bretonside development. |

Hopefully it will now fail to get off the ground. It must be obvious by now that the current owner isn't going to splash any of his own cash, so why can't we consider taking the problem off his hands ? A Trust run club with some wealthy fans as directors and a great many more fans as small shareholders ? If Argyle is ever going to feel truly 'ours' , it needs to be owned by us, all of us and not by a property developer, protected by local cronies in return for their directors' box treats. All I'm asking is could it work ? |

| Notice how often the word Bretonside crops up now, even from the top dog - its deffo put the shivers up Brent and helpers!! Bet your bottom dollar the abandonment of the project will be lumbered on fans like us - the fact however will only ever be because he came up with the most convoluted heap of carp you could ever waste an architects time on!! Only an opinion of course!!

Tringy, anything is worth a go mate!! Indeed. There were wealthy Argyle fans willing to invest in the club a few years back. I wonder if any of them, or others, would consider investing now, in tandem with a Trust/fans ownership model ? Unlikely I know but if the Trust were to be approached regarding such a possible future, it might just get the ball rolling . ps Think the heat is getting to me

Tringy, anything is worth a go mate!! Yep. If the fans had got behind this instead of making up lies about Sir Jimmy then this would already have been built and the Bretonside project wouldn't have been mentioned. It's all those pesky kids fault. Ironically it will be the super fans, rather than the Cypriot sage preaching for years that "I told you so" "I knew what would happen" |
