I go to work to pay the bills..... if I wasn't paid, id leave. Now the owner of the company has got away without paying what is owed
the staff members at the time should have left Thats the difference between you and the staff Dane, they knew if they all left there would be no club - and couldnt face that. And by the way the owner hasnt got away with paying the bill. Brent is repaying the debt to the GTs at the same rate he is paying the players - as he has to do by law. |

the staff members at the time should have left I think the GTs intervened precisely because they wanted to keep our club functioning, not totally reinvent a club with no Chief Exec, a part time chairman and kids for players. |

He was told he was no longer needed as CEO because Todd was taking over the running of the club as Executive Director. |

| As I said. Makes you wonder just what he knew was about to happen. It was all at the same time. March. I bet Todd had an inkling too. Ridsdale had already been here 3 months by then, planning and consulting. |

Yes, sorry (apologies to Mr Brent) I was confusing paying staff the wages owed and paying the creditors. Silly mistake by me. Whilst I'm here - what's your response to this morning's news that Arsenal & Spurs are in discussions about ground-sharing? |

I agree, that is the difference, I put myself and my family's wellbeing first. Making sure they have a roof over there heads and there's food on the table, over getting into massive debt by helping a tin pot, micky mouse club survive so I can continue being ''just a number'' that no-one at the club really gives a shit about that's right Damon, that is a big difference!!! Damon seriously - what planet are you on, I think anyone who stays with a business for 9 months without pay is mentally unstable. |

| As I said in my first post on this subject, I wouldn't have done it. Would you have Damon ? Would you see your kids eating out of a food bank for the sake of Plymouth argyle ? I just don't understand the thinking behind it. - Quote :

Yes damon I am. The sole purpose in going to work for a living is to pay bills and give yourself a good standard of living not keep a club alive that would drop any one of those people tomorrow if they had too |

| So you would advocate the staff to put the club before there own family's before the bills they couldn't afford, before mortgages and rents would you ?
I really wonder what you would have done Damon. I think its a pretty selfish act to work for nothing for 9 months, at the detriment of your house/bills and kids.
If my partner came to me and said that she was going to work for free for 9 months- id tell her to get a grip and she would be in looking for a new job the next day.
Total Farce- the whole situation, and admirable it may be, or could be seen a foolish. Is Plymouth argyle football club worth losing your house ? No !
You, even trying to justify it shows that you havnt got the slightest clue about what its like to be really struggling |

| If my boss told me I was working for free for 9 months i'd be getting my arse out there trying to find another job!
Thing is though football is different to a "normal" job. People don't work at Argyle just for a job, most work there because they love working for the Argyle name.
You can't compare the Argyle staff to those in the "normal" working world. People working for a faceless company have no loyalty, it's just a job whereas working for Argyle meant something to those who went without pay and that's why they stayed loyal. |

| Absolutely YM - and it wasnt as if they were told they would be without pay for 9 months - continually lied to by Todd, Ridsdale and Guilfoyle who all kept the staff hanging on with promises of 'soon'. |

but admin is admin, reception is reception |

| It really isnt Dane. Each and every person, from retailers to secretaries feels a sense of belonging at the football club. Ask anyone who has left what was the best job they had they will tell you working atthe football club. It's not about the money, it's about working at a place that you really want to be. It's about being on the inside. It's about friends and family and anyone you meet saying that must be a great place to work. Because it really is a great place to work andthey really are wonderful people. |

| Dane, knowing how much you like Man U. If it was them in admin and you worked for them, would you leave and also encourage others to do the same which could close the club for good and lose any money owed to you? _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! | Of Course id leave ! Family comes first, I wouldn't work for ANYONE for free. Maybe its my outlook that's different, I go to work to earn as much money as possible, the more I earn, the happier I am. |

Wierd innit. More than once I've made decisions not to take alternative employment that would have meant a considerable salary increase. The trade-off of relocation and family upheaval, as well as the wrench of leaving a job I was happy in, meant it wasn't worth the risk. Money aids happiness, but it ain't the most essential ingredient. As far as the PAFC staff go, if I were in their position and could 'get by' in the interim period, I think I would do my damnedest to stay. However, there is not a snowball in hells chance that I'd let it put something like losing my house at risk. |
