One of my political heroes (an overplayed word but you know wht I mean)

I heard him speak at a packed Guildhall when I was still a teenager at school.  A persuasive and impressive orator not one for soundbites but I love this -

This is the kind of twatting soundbites we get from pygmy politicians these days.

Seriously good idea Tring, maybe we could have the "ask the five powerful questions" as the thought of the day in tribute?

Good idea Tringy.
I too attended that Guildhall gathering, and many other anti war demonstrations he attended and spoke at. One of THE best and one of the very few who renounced his silly title. He, and Foot for that matter, were pilloried by the capitalist press throughout the main thrust of their careers.
New Labour should be ashamed of the Blairite era and it's warmongering... Bosnia aside.
