Come back to the good ship Mayflower sinking fast and rudderless in need of help and stabilisation on the rocky seas of League 1 |

| He wouldn't tolerate the village elders for a split second...not a chance I'm afraid. |

| That ship sailed 15 years ago. Richard Branson is more likely to return and run my corner shop. |

| I suppose the binary days of Pulis would be an improvement on the 0 4's this season, 11 men behind the ball and Elliot Ward up for the corners. |

| Be interested to see where he goes next, I would expect the Swansea job will become available soon. Alternatively an underacheiving championship side might be his next job, Hull, Norwich or similar.
He won't want for job offers, bet West Ham are kicking themselves! |

| He's a Cardiff fan probably wouldn't touch Swansea with a barge pole.
He might fancy the Sunderland job till the end of the season though? |

He might fancy the Sunderland job till the end of the season though? I seriously doubt it would matter, Pulis needs a job after Palace stung him for a few million. Chris Coleman is the latest mug to take the Sunderland job, so thats gone. |

| Trffic Tone would simply guffaw when he saw brent's wage offer and player budget. May as well face it, Argo's going down with record low points and absolutely nothing will stop that now. |

| He was filling time waiting for the Sunderland job we always knew that, in the mean time he staved off almost certain relegation that year. |

| Pulis? Errr, no thanks. Dire, backs to the wall uninspiring gutless drivel. Ok, it did keep us up - it did the trick, but by fekerydoodah it was ugly football.
I'll settle for Cap'N Pugwash to steer this rudderless ship in a sea of frothing shite to safety - or obscurity. |

Don't entirely agree that the football was that bad under Pulis-there were some very good performances at HP in his season against teams like Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton, QPR, Coventry, Palace etc. Away from home was admittedly very turgid indeed- Argyle always seemed to lose 1-0 when I went to away games, which was fairly regularly back then. The word was that Pulis was only capable of survival operations, the majority were not sorry to see him go and wanted someone who "can take us to the next level" but that theory was pretty much blown to pieces by his achievement at Stoke. Same as Holloway really, he saw what was coming and who could blame him for taking a job where the ownership was genuinely interested in progress on the pitch rather than running an underfunded charade. Anyway, tis all an irrelevance, he won't be coming back here. |

| I didn't have that much of a problem with Pulis, he was needed, and he did a LOT of background organisation that helped Holloway later. He bullied Stapleton's board into getting their act together. I seem to remember Pulis went off at the request of a long time acquaintance, or the club he supported. Something like that, but I may be mistaken. Nevertheless, we've had three of the modern game's most successful lower league managers in Pulis, Holloway and Warnock, and all three have fallen foul of the lack of football commitment and standard of people running the show here. Brent just happens to be the worst yet of a long line of owners running the club for THEIR interests only. Apparently he knows better than the fans, being the genius that he is. A bit like Dan, until he finally saw the light. Those managers have taken several long time unfashionable clubs up to the premiership, while competing against parachute payments and the like, something Brent thinks Argyle can't even manage in League 1. Dan's Drake's Island serves as a perfect icon of the zest and vision of businessmen that have graced Home Park. No wonder ambitious young individuals hop on the first train out of North Road. The tritium levels in the Tamar don't help either. |

| It's all academic whilst we have Brent in charge. The best we can hope for is hat another Adams type comes in, young, ambitious and with a point to prove. The main obstacle they have to overcome is the lack of budget and playing second fiddle to property development schemes, Adams has done well all things considered and anyone who believes we should be higher than we are is deluded. Why is it that we don't have names like Pulis applying for the job is obvious or should be. |

| Pulis saved argyle from relegation and kept the club in the Championship- and, even after he left, his signings made argyle far more solid and laid the foundations for Holloway. The football was pretty grim, but its always entertaining when we win. A man who knows what he is doing and get results. |

| Looks like Pardew is being interviewed for the WBA job, i fail to see how he's an upgrade on Pulis. It seems like its the sort of job they would have approached Pulis for had they not just sacked him!
I reckon Pulis might end up as Wales manager, although I see Giggs is being talked up as is usual!! |
