But how much of that is cash and how much is assets, or if you prefer false money?

S'pose you guys must be getting pretty used to it by now.
Meanwhile the much heralded Exshitter v Brazil game that Tis was boasting about was never even on. It was touted to the 45 Shitty season ticket holders by the new board who then left for 2 weeks of intense negotiations on Copacabana beach at the clubs expense, taken out of the Christmas Club money, and here is footage of the Brazillian football authorities debating the request for a game against Exeter.

I was under the impression that Brent was putting small amounts of monies in to tie the club over ?. I am sure I read that on atd somewhere.
I see on the PASOTI site that the replies are now coming in from those disliked.
The Doctor has been bravely putting his point across regarding the budget and club debt. He is trying hard to convince the rabble in the ranks that if it were not for ex-players still being paid off,Argyle would probably have had a much better budget this season.
Another poster on one thread has said that although he did not want liquidation,he could see the benefits from it,to which IJN replied sarcastically.
H and R got a mention too,but not favourably mind you...
And if you fancy a hospitality night at Swindon,it will cost you £40.....

The difference with Brent is that he knows the meaning of the word asset, where the muppets hold paper he holds physical assets, where Heaney had massive debt offset by inflated asset values Brenty has bought up, not to mention stolen, assets at cheap money, hey, he even did the magic trick of selling something he never paid for, Gnome Park, for 1.6 millionish, knock the boy all you like but he sure knows how to turn a buck.

Cornish Chris then goes on to complain about the grinning yes men who are now a big feature within Argyle, along with a swipe at Brent in the process ( who he says is much better than what was on offer in 2011).

I was perusing Greensonscreen earlier and on this day in 2000 we lost in Division 4 against Barnet in front of 3423. It turned out to be Kevin Hodges last game in charge before Luggy swept in like a tornado and the rest is history.
3423 though! We're getting double those gates now and more so this piffle about a budget for promotion is feckin hysterical.
Brent may well have said that he wasn't going to be a sugar daddy but I at least expected him to oversee a big enough budget to get out of this shit pit within 3 years. All this accepting of mediocrity is baffling. Argyle fans have never accepted it before, they've voted with their feet or done something about it.
Even if we finish mid-table this season and manage to get a couple more players wages off the bill who in their right mind honestly believes that Sheridan, or however, will be able to utilise the squad we have plus a couple of additions and gain promotion next season?
It won't happen so the 7000 or so turning up religiously every week need to ask themselves do they mind chucking away another great chunk of money on a crap team for the rest of this season, and the next, and probably beyond that too.
We are as far away from promotion material as you could possibly have and with no prospect of the owner putting his hand in his pocket anytime in the future either this is what Argyle fans have to look forward to.
Maybe a 17th place finish this season followed by a 14th place the next and a 12th place the season after that before hurtling back down to an 18th place finish the following season is palatable to the faithful fans?
Argyle will be in division 4 in 5 years time, who can dispute that with any great confidence? Tisdale possibly who will argue that we might be in a worse league, but then he's jealous just hearing about massive gates of 3423 so his view is immaterial.
Seriously how many season ticket holders this season would renew for the next 5 years if they knew for sure that mid-table in this dogshit league is the best prospect on offer under Brent?
Yes, yes, yes you never know blah, blah, blah but honestly take a few minutes and ponder our squad now and our financial situation under Brent and make a convincing argument why anyone would disagree with this.
It ain't happening. If Newell, Nikkkkkkkkkkkkk and Webb are still insistent that years of dross are much better than the other option which was insolvency and starting again in the non-league pyramid where it might actually have been fun watching the side grow and prosper then they are welcome to it.
Two losses now against rivals, and almost certainly to Swindon in the paintpot cup and we could be right back in the shit and out of the best chance for a cup run. Swindon are as low as 16-1 to win the cup and we are as high as 80-1 so it would be a big upset for us to beat them at their place.
Shitty are big favourites to beat us next Saturday, we are as high as 13/5 to win, and then it's Pompey who are still the 4th favourites to win the league while we are as high as 100-1 to win the league!
So in all probability we will lose our next 3 games.
Enjoy the ride

REF: Greenjock..
CornishChris said Brent was better than what was about while Argyle were in admin. So my remark that he was larging Brent up a treat was off the mark,so I do apologise.
Perhaps I should have said that CC was happy that Brent was there, but hints at caution and discontent.
CAUTION in the sense that Brent is not prepared to take Argyle forward, but rather feather his own next instead.
DISCONTENT at the people who have wormed a way into the the top corridors of Home Park...

I agree with the post by Greenjock 100%.
One can't disagree when one looks at the situation Argyle find themselves in now and most likely,in seasons to come also.
That is why we need someone on the Board who is football savvy and has some spare cash to put into the club. Whether that ever happens is open for debate......
If Brent is sincere about which way Argyle are going, the least he could do is get some people into the Boardroom who know how (and are prepared ) to fund a team that will achieve promotion out of L2.
Sadly,I can't see any rush by Brent to up the anti anytime soon..
So yes,It looks like L2 football for sometime to come..which in itself is a travesty.

The penny has almost dropped with the likes of Cornish Chris. He still falls for the 'Brent was the only option'.
The whole admin process was a sham and all through it, the reluctant one was biding his time, 'chatting' to PCC.
Once he waved the silly hats n titles at the Windsor Boys it was job done.

You can be 100% sure that if Brent has the money there's not a hope in hell of him using it for any development, bankers and ex bankers just don't work like that, it's far too honest and carries far too much personal risk.

Plymouth is a big club, decades in and around the second tier playing teams in front of 20, 30,000 Supporters.
Exeter is just a no mark club, never going to be anything or build anything, just happy to have a wanker like Alan Gow there because he can control a pass with his weaker foot.
You wouldnt understand the anger over HHP because you are a shit club like Yeovil, Aldershot and Hereford, getting excited when the wallpaper in the tea rooms is changed, never going to win leagues or achieve anything.
Come back when you have achieved what Argyle has, have crowds like Argyle has , and are chronically exploited and mismanaged the way Argyle has been... then you will know why fans struggle to get excited by the utter shite that goes with being a lower mid table quality side in a league as shit as this.
The fact you attributed two promotions as fluke shows how retarded your supporters are. Your club belongs in the conference truth be known, Tisdale has done well keeping them in the league for several seasons, he should pick up the Bideford job for all the thanks he gets.

I think the Doctor is right up to a point.
The club owed £3.3m in unpaid wages with about £2.9m owed to players. That is being paid back at 7% per annum making a total of approximately £200k per year.
If we guess that the playing budget is £1.5m then that's 13% of it gone before we start. If the budget is smaller then the percentage will be higher (and vice versa).
So it is a significant amount. Just how significant is a subjective matter.
If a L2 player earns £1000/week then it amounts to 4 players in the squad fewer than there might have been.
Whatever the budget is the amount on Brent's spreadsheet will be £200k bigger than the one on Sheridan's.
Without a damned thing happening something which could be considered "quite competitive" as it leaves the boardroom becomes much less so by the time it hits the pitch.

Try that with a semi detached and see how far you'd get? Some poor bloke in Tamerton had to take his finished house down when the architect make a mistake measuring a datum point and the house was about four inches higher than it should have been.

Come back when you have achieved what Argyle has,
Guffaw! The only "big club" in the 4th division relegation zone is Pompey and they wont be there for long while you have found your level.
Angry over getting a FREEBIE new stand? Easy to understand that, you are all stupid.
"achieved what Arghpile has"? You have won the 3rd division a couple of times, whoooopee foookin doo!
You need a reality check sunshine, years of 2nd division mid table mediocrity with a few thousand turning up when people had fook all else to do maketh not a "big club", but for the points donated by ECFC you would have been in the Conference by now, that may well prove to be your natural level.
