I hope there's somebody among you Greens who is anally retentive enough to record absolutely every snippet about your club that appears on TV, because if you do and trawl back to the end of last season, around the time of the game known to us as "The Nightmare On Outland Road", you will see something that both amuses and appalls you in equal measure.

There was a news report about the stand (I think it was on ITV) during which both Brent and Newell were interviewed. (Feck knows why Newell gets these gigs, given that he's supposedly only an "ordinary fan" with no official position).

During some of the background video during a voiceover, there was a shot of Jimmy holding court with some other suits standing around him. All of a sudden, our friendly-neighbourhood corpulent arselicker veers into shot and interrupts Brent by leaning through the group and slapping him on the shoulder before cracking into that obsequious grimace of his that passes for a smile and slinking off on his belly. It's difficult to explain the impact in words, but it was such a cringeworthily arselicking moment that I swear I genuinely winced.

He might be able to twist out of it on the back of Webb if you let him. I've genuinely seen nothing from your friendly-neighbourhood Bollinger-drinking socialist to suggest any special intelligence, but what he does seem to have is a low-rent version of Brent's manipulativeness and low cunning. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he manages to fool enough of the fanbase to worm his way out when the sh*t hits the fan. Do you think his sudden silence is a coincidence, or an indication that he's preparing a Houdini act? Remember that he was voted "12th Greatest Janner" or something in the Brent Herald. While that was obviously not entirely serious, it does point to the fact that he still seems to have a constituency - namely the alarming number of people who have swallowed the line that "Good Ol' Webby saved the club", without ever being able to explain how in concrete terms. It isn't that long ago that the drummer from some famous band (Bastille?) repeated that canard in the press.

Unfortunately his enemies on here are going to be of limited use when the time comes. It will be too easy for his supporters to point to the level of personal bitterness that is clear for all to see and to dodge the difficult questions by using that history as a smokescreen. You will need representatives who are untainted by any accusations of personal vendettas - and that organisation will be the Trust. That is partly why they are absolutely right not to get into battles with the Brent faction that they cannot win. It doesn't matter how much support the WG plans had, given that not all those who were in favour of them were against Brent or his cronies. On the contrary many of them were still under the spell of the idea that they wouldn't have a club were it not for Brent  - their objections to the original plans didn't necessarily extend to antipathy towards the Reluctant Bidder and his High Command.  Even if they had all caught on to what Brent is really about it would have had no effect on the outcome. Brent owns the club lock, stock and barrel, on top of which PCC and the Herald are a thousand per cent in his corner. A romantic cavalry charge of the kind that has been advocated here at times would have been like a kamikaze attack by a Sopwith Camel on the Tirpitz. If you're going to stop the likes of Newell and Webb you have to be a lot more politically savvy than that.

Just been perusing some ATD material from 18 months ago.

Cerbera doesn't mind how he gets there. He just craves recognition. Before the election he stated, ' I coudn't care less what happens on Pasoti. ATD is where its at !'

Also found a photo from a Cherry Tree freak meet. The line up........ Symons, Cerbs and sons, Charlie, Peggy, Chemical, Frank and Mr Corporate Governance himself, Jon b.
Of that lot, one now leads the Trust, one is firmly brent's man on the pasb and another is so far up Pasoti and brent's arses that his little legs don't touch the ground.

So Charlie, Peggy, Chemical and Frank are in some sort of club are they? I don't get your point that's all.

Cerbera's a dickhead foreshore and Jon Back has proved to be someone who bows and tugs his forelock towards Brent reverentially but Andy is the Trust leader who was cut off by Brent for asking too many questions and is hated on Pasoti.

Didn't mention a club or a cabal , dear boy. Just painting the picture as I couldn't post it. I have the greatest respect for Charlie, Chemical and Frank.

I seem to remember you having big love for Cerbs, back when Symons did too and I was an 'odious toad, a liar and a bully', according to the now Trust chairman, for daring to suggest that Cerbs was a control freak and a climber !
They still 'get on' I believe.

Just seemed like you were roping in others with your generalisation.

I have to admit that I thought Cerbera was one of the good guys and never thought for a minute that he'd turn out to be such a wanker. I still like Andy and think that he gets a rough ride from people as well when he's trying to do some good. There's not many people who would take the shit that gets dished out in Andy's direction and would carry on.
