| Very sad news.I can only barely remember him playing but my father used to speak very highly of him and i know he was a much sought after player by clubs in the first division.I played against his son a few times, deepest sympathy to him and the rest of the Williams family-RIP Johnny,a true Argyle legend. |

| Very sad news, he and Paul Mariner are the two best players I ever saw in an Argyle shirt. Deepest sympathy to his family. |

| A great player in one of the all time great Argyle teams. All heart and could hit the ball harder than Wotton. |

| Way before my time, but a name that is known, admired and respected by young and old alike. Sad news. |

| He played the first few times I went. All I can remember is that the grown-ups around me made noises of approval. Other than that, I dunno. Is that helpful? |

| Never saw him play, but a Argyle 'legend' in the true sense of the word. I also need to thank him for inspiring a sixties kids 'card' that resulted in my avatar! You placed his image over the 'masked' player [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]RIP Johnny. |

| Watched many a Johnny Williams shot, sail over my head in the Demport and into the car park. Occasionally, one flew into the onion bag................. usually with a bit of left to right swerve !
RIP True Argyle Legend. |

| Way before my time but one of those names my Dad mentions when talking about Argyle. Scored against Gordon Banks in the League Cup SF I believe.
