The underdogs equalised, but Sunderland restored the natural order and scored a second through Liverpool's Borini.

Watching Sunderland v United, the comms are goin on about United players playin for their careers due to the £50m war chest Moyes has at his disposal. It sounds rediculous but 50mill doesn't get you 4 or 5 top class players any more. It gets you ONE proper top end world class performer, or it should get you two extremely good players. That is, unless you are partial to blowing £27m on let-downs like Fellaini. Razz

I reckon it would take more like 100mill spent wisely for United to get anywhere close to the coattails of their neighbours at the Etihad.

Almost certainly the end of an era, I recks.

If you were to look at the world class players in Man Utd's squad, I personally think it is limited to Vidic, Van Persie and Rooney.

32 years old, 30 years old (with a history of injuries) and 28 (who has handed in transfer requests to leave).

The core of Ferguson's winning team has become a crumbling wreck. Ferdinand and Evra, players in decline. Darren Fletcher nowhere near the player he was. Ryan Giggs somehow a first team player at 40 years old.

Where is the hope in the future? Januzaj and Welbeck, and hoping Tom Cleverley turns into Paul Scholes? It doesn't look good.

To compare the future of this team with that of say, Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich, and it is frighteningly bleak. The Germans better in every single position across two different clubs.

Last time United lost three in a row, the twin towers were still standing, and I was a svelte 32" waist!  Razz

Yep well deserved by Sunderland tonight, even though i thought their penalty incident was committed a smidge outside the area.

The players you need wont go in this window unless utd pay over the odds for them. Plus its all about getting to 3rd or 4th and getting that champions league place for them so too much distruption will harm that oddly enough. The summer time will be busy thats for sure.

No one will join the sinking ship in January.
face it the only players who will sign will be players with half the talent.
I mean what happened to Zaha and the defender Moyes signed ?

they will be lucky to finish in top six this year.

50 mil maybe just for this window perhaps

Jeez you're bright, if they don't do summat in this window then there will be no Chumps League and no extra cash, the Glazers will not be digging deep as they are potless without ripping off the ol' MUFC cash cow.

Great result for the Macams tonight, must be in with a decent shot at the prize when they visit Moyes' Morgue of Dreams.

One area that does deserve credit are the Man Utd fans, at least the matchday ones and not the ones who ring talksport. Their support this season, home and away, has been excellent. Support and patience.

Well, it is a huge city with big time industrial history, the perfect spawning ground for football.
I guess we have to accept we just do surf and sex down here, and don't have the patience gene. jocolor
