| Oddball writes The new grandstand will incorporate a much bigger corporate area than at present, about four times as big.Corporate hospitality being very popular,it will generate a considerable increase in match day revenue. Then you have a fans bar which will be a big moneyspinner as well. For far too many years Argyle have lost out to the likes of the Britannia Pub,The Cherry Tree, and the Golden Hind. Now a lot of that lost revenue will be going into the HP coffers.Plus as crowds increase so will match day revenue. The new facilities will bring in betweeen £1million and £2 million additional revenue as James Brent has said,no doubt about it.
Now on the new grandstand ministand plans were does it state that there is going to be a fans bar. Only this week this was brought up on another topic on here some are so blinkered it scares me. |

| Question for Oddball.
We have lost the Far Post club, now if there is a new supporters bar, how many more people than the old club do you think the new one will hold? Enough to replace the Far Post? How many people who currently use all the pubs you mention do you think this new bar will take on top of the membership of the Far Post? How many of these fans who are used to paying Wetherspoons prices do you think will be interested in paying corporate prices? |

| There's a bar but it's not going to be an inside version of the Pyramid Suite - that's just what people are assuming. Oh my days! |

| The fact that nobody in the public domain (including the Pasb) knows for sure, is a damn disgrace.
What transparency? |

Oh, yeah, he wanted to ruin CP by doing loads of uncontrolled development-building a hotel, a multiplex and fast food outlets. He just HAD to be stopped come what may, good job Brent rolled up with a whole load of different ideas.
Personally, I think BIL stood for Brent's Incognito Landgrab A bloody good job newell and co rumbled him in the holiday inn, where would we have been otherwise? |

The new facilities will bring in betweeen £1million and £2 million additional revenue as James Brent has said,no doubt about it. Well I guess the Reluctant Bidder knows what he's doing (some might say that's half the problem) but when you consider that in 2012 Bolton's corporate hospitality revenues (not profit) were £2million and Stoke City's were £3million, I'll believe it when I see it, as it were. Given that the Reluctant Bidder is such an honest man, I guess you can look forward to something like this. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]It's the revenue - or rather the income - generated by the facilities that you should be concerned about, far more than the capacity. If you focus all your attention on the size of the stand you run the risk that it will actually look OK in the end and the Brentists will use that fact to say they've been proved right, when that isn't really the pertinent issue at all. The Reluctant Bidder has stripped you of all your assets and is apparently only loaning you money, rather than acting as the benefactor his supporters try to pretend he is. Therefore a major part of your future football budget is going to come from the new facilities. If they turn out to be a lot different than it says on the tin, then the issue of ground capacity presenting a potential handicap to progress will be the least of your problems. |

| I've done the business lounge twice, though a couple of years ago now - whilst it was well attended, not full. I would take with a pinch of salt Al's forecasting of being able to increase numbers x4 - pains me to say it but Exeter and especially their rugby experience is a totally different ball game (pun), it pulls in a whole different set of punters, as do Bath etc. As to these £ millions being bandied around, these are turnover not profit figures - get back to basics, fill every empty seat with people that want to watch the FOOTBALL and the rest can fall into place!! |

| History shows that if Argyle show ambition the crowds come in. The problem is History also shows that the club have a habbit of letting people down, and many have had enough now and simply dont attend.
My dad tells me that all his life argyle have had spells where they show promise, then when they arrive at a crossroads where they need to push on, they get it wrong and slump again.
What makes brent think, just because there is more hospitality it will be used. Argyle are seen as a joke by most people

| Cute that they are leaving the southern "stealth" road around the hotel which will cause a major stink when becomes apparent in PCC's hands.
Only had time for a skim read but can find no reference to the buy back clause. If this has been removed then good news.
The AFT must be asking for a definitive statement from Brent if PAFC will receive non-matchday revenue from the corporate facilities. |

| (I'm going to be a bit lazy and more or less cut and paste something I've posted in the "PPC Report Regarding Landowning Issues At Home Park" thread on PASOTI).
Wigan's total commercial revenues were less than £2 million in 2011/12, when they were in the Premier League.
In the same period seven Championship clubs received less than £3 million in commercial revenues (two - Coventry and Porstmouth - didn't publish accounts for that period). These were Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Peterborough United, Millwall, Watford, Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers - Watford, Barnsley and Hull all received less than £2million. Interestingly a Doncaster business consultancy claimed that in the current climate bars, restaurants and hotels are all tough asks and that as a result of relegation to the third tier Doncaster's commercal revenues would take a significant hit.
Remember, the above figures are for total commercial revenues - i.e incuding such things as sponsorship etc - yet according to the Reluctant Bidder you are supposedly going to bring in an extra £1-2 million from what seems to be little more than corporate hospitality, bar takings and catering, from one stand alone.
I'll believe it when I see it. |
