Apparently Chris Wilder is going to be given the boot at the end of the season with OUFC rumoured to be coming after John Sheridan's name..

| Apparently there is a news conference today at 11:15 about Chris Wilder's future at OXford United so there maybe something more to this... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

Sign him up now FFS! If the above is true,then Oxford United could perhaps offer Sheridan a better deal than what Argyle and Brent may have in mind. It is up to Sheridan at the end of the day [he may opt to stay here if offered the chance and give it a crack or he may listen to offers from afar]. Personally,i'd be sorry if he left to take up a role elsewhere,but there will always be no shortage of willing candidates to replace him.. The club needs some stability right now,especially within team matters/affairs. Brent was way too slow in getting rid of Fletcher,Sheridan has come in and done a grand job to date and it would be no surprise to see other clubs looking at his work down here. |

| Only Argyle could lose their manager a day before the final day of the season when they could still be relegated. |

| Oxford aren't really in much of a better situation than us. They are completely poleaxed by the rent Kassam charges them (thanks Peeder). But it be just like us to lose the best manager we have had since holloway and then appoint a new one till Late June to safe on wages |

| Am I reading this correctly? Are some seriously suggesting Sheridan is likely to walk out 48 hours before such a crucial game? Wilder might well leave today but they certainly won't be announcing Sheridan as his replacement today. And why would we pay another manager until June? How would that save money anyway, we are paying Sheridan to June aren't we? If only until May then it could mean spending more. |

That has crossed my mind already !!. It would be typical of Brent to do this and leave Argyle facing another season of woe in L2. |

| Running the risk of saying 'I have looked into his eyes' I do not think in a million years that Sheridan will consider any other position until after the final kick on Saturday. |

Not publicly no but he must have a pretty good idea whether he wants to stay at Argyle next season. If Wotton is so certain he won't be staying so must the Board. Perhaps it's a game of bluff and double bluff to get a decent contract or perhaps he simply doesn't want to relocate to the SW with his family longterm. Or it just might be an ambition, or lack of, thing. |

Maybe Nikkk could help out with his salary ? Loving the Helen thread, on the farm. She is getting flustered and sounding more like the Nool with every comment |

And next season's budget is hardly likely to be as "competetive" as this successful season has been. If JB is stopping loaning any more money to the club then the budget will be slashed I reckon, and not against the wall like Fletcher did. The club isn't going anywhere in the forseeable future. The budget IS going to be reduced so whether Sheridan is in charge or we see the limit of Brent's ambition and Wotton is the next exceptional individual/cheap option, there won't be any chance of promotion anytime soon. I suspect Sheridan has already been told that next season's budget will be dramatically reduced if he was considering staying on longer and he would instantly know that he isn't going to be able to do anything with the players that will be left and the amount that he would have left to play with and recruit new players. I suppose to some people having the thrill of a relegation battle year in year out is preferable to mid-table obscurity,especially if it's being viewed from the Directors Box, but I don't think it will take much of next season before even the most optimistic and understanding of fans will be able to make a case for relishing trips to Rochdale with the fate of the club still uncertain. I would expect season ticket sales to be dramatically lower than for this season, where all the right noises were being made by Webb and Brent, and anyone who believes that Paul Wotton as player-manager, or some other cheap option manager like Colin Lee, is going to be working miracles and transforming a relegation threatened side into a promotion side is ever so slightly deluded. I must admit to being one of the deluded ones who did actually think that Brent would be handing over enough cash to turn the clubs fortunes around sooner or later, but in truth he has shown an amazing liking for austerity and penny pinching and won't be changing from Scrooge to Santa Claus for Argyle, as he has admirably demonstrated during his tenure here. If there are concerns about the budget before season tickets are purchased, not many are likely to fall for Webb's bullshit again, or be taken in by talk of competetive budgets by Brent, so the first few games of next season will be crucial. Start off badly under a caretaker manager or someone not universally well received by the fans and that could be the season over before it's really started. How long are you going to stay faithful to shit division 4 survival football? I very much doubt that Argyle will be getting 10,000+ gates from the outset if the fans know there is no chance of promotion. Then there is the possible backlash if the plans go ahead against the wishes of the majority. People will vote with their feet and that will hurt the club but not necessarily Brent. His plans will carry on regardless. We already know that corporate hospitality is going to tail off unless the good people of Devon don't mind being threatened and having drinks thrown over them by the Clampetts on the next table, so it could well come down to how much Nikkkkkkkkk is going to throw at the club for sponsoring them? Nikkkkkkkkk chucking a couple of million might be enough to see an upturn in fortunes but at what cost? Pictures of Nikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk holding a Chadwick shirt while Boss Hogg his spokesman lurks in the background trying to look respectable, and the grinning monkey Webb rushing around trying to whip up enthusiasm amongst the 12 strong crowd who turned up for the major announcement of the new club sponsor Like a warm up guy for a comedian,Webb will be expected to make Sue Pollard and the rest of the loyal purporters moist again at the thought of another "Top scorer in a European League" joining us, or making the signing of Jamie Lowry seem on a par with RVP joining United. Sorry Mr President but I don't think Griffifths or Lowry will do it this time, not even another Chadwick arriving will get the juices flowing, so in effect it's over to you Nikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. How much are you prepared to bankroll Brent and keep the heat off him? Fair play to you if you don't mind throwing money at the club you love but I think even you will want something better for your money than non-league misfits and massive games aginst Rochdale, even if you are paying for the coaches |

| Brent's main man and divider of fans speaks;
Is it me, or is there a very high number of ex pats, and exiles that seem to be very anti this new stand?
Nothing to do, at all with the debate, but I have noticed that over the last few days.
Something I have noticed over the last couple of years are that you are not fit for purpose of owning the official fans site because you are just a yes man that will shove his tongue straight between the buttocks of anybody that rocks up at HP. Added to that the lies, undermining of the Trust and the fact that you surround yourself with other highly dubious characters. Mind you if the basis of your argument is that most people who object are ex. pats makes me wonder whether two faced has borrowed your account, he could always borrow Don't Panic, or was that already in use elsewhere else? |

| I have also heard a rumour that Sheridan will not be here next season. It is only that, a rumour with no particular source that comes with it. Maybe the person who told it to me has the same source as the origin of the rumour here. Guess we will find out after Saturday because there was never much of a chance he was going to go before then unless Ferguson was retiring. |
