-I think James Brent's time in charge of Argyle has been an absolute dismal unqualified failure. I feel let down from the hopes I had when he took over.

-I entirely condemn the reply of the club to the Trust and fully support the Trust's relentless push for transparency and I think the argument which states that the Trust should wait until the end of the season lest it be disruptive is an inherently flawed argument.

- I agree James Brent is primarily involved with Plymouth Argyle to make money.

-I entirely agree that to say 'at least we're living within our means' is a flawed argument as we quite obviously are not given that we cannot fulfill our debts.

-I am just as bemused as you by the argument that Brent's time in charge has been basically good but flawed. As you say, just at the league table ffs. I repeat, it's been a Shakespearian tragedy.

-When I saw Braingreen calling for a statue of Brent, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Fully understand that to some who are so psyched up in their own bubble that I will always be a Brent-lover, but to those who are prepared to challenge their paradigm of belief, those are all my views.

Even if it was what Greensam would have backed eighteen months ago, he is allowed to change his mind.

I think I am right in saying Greensam is still a (really) young man - if indeed, he is actually - legally - a man yet? ...and I don't mean that in a patronising way.

...and eighteen months at that age is a life time! Maybe, just possibly... he's learned something?

And while I'm at it... I'll stand up and say I really enjoy reading what Greensam has to say (as long as he doesn't revert and start talking about God)!

I know I am a scummer and my view on Argyle is tainted and not worth jack (and rightly so IMO) but I agree with Hairy here. Bloody hell, we all have a right to change our minds.

Whether this Bates rumour is true or false, the way fans are discussing it demonstrates one thing - they are ready for change. People are sick to death of brent, scheming superfans, presidents, being permanently bottom of the league etc etc etc. Any whiff of finally getting rid of the non-investing hotel building banker and his entourage from hell is bound to cause some excitement. The China Fleet would be a great course for the ATD golf fest, it's a bloody long one though.


As for Sam, he's been one of the most realistic posters long before ATD existed. There was a time when I thought he would come under the Newell wing but much credit to him for developing his own mind and opinion and at such a young age. AFT leader one day?

When the sun shines and there's no wind, Staddon is a lovely place to play. Stunning views out over the Sound. I know a lot of the holes are a bit samey, and some of the patrons still think it's 1958, but on a nice summers day there are few better golfing locations in the south west.

People who play golf, like golf or even think about golf should be attached to something very heavy and dropped into the sea off a boat. Although Leaderboard on the ZX Spectrum was quite good. Death to golfists.

I'm surprised Dane plays golf as he's not mastered getting past the number 7 so 18 holes must be pretty daunting.

Even golf jokes are shit.

I agree Hairy, it's a ridiculous silly game of hitting a small ball for a few miles with a stick, the only reason I very occasionally play it is to meet up with a few old mates and have a laugh.
