Park Meddler on the other site. Pretty good post
Quote :
No - nobody has been banned for having multi-accounts. Since the most recent iteration of the PASOTI agreement we (the mods) have been wading through all users to weed out any multi-accounts. All of the issues on this thread pre-date that agreement. One or two ordinary posters continue to hold multi-accounts (to our knowledge but others will no doubt crop up over time) and these will be dealt with as soon as we can deal with them and/or become aware of them.
Of the mods - 6 or 7 have two accounts so that they can post and remain anonymous - they use their second account for modding purposes only - these are known to all mods, kept on a thread "upstairs" and are allowed by the PASOTI agreement. Some mods, myself included, have only one account which they both post and use for modding. In the past mods have had numerous accounts, after the shenanigans over Deep Throat and others the mods agreed that we would move to the new PASOTI agreement and a code of conduct for mods which all mods agree to. We accept that this has not always been the case in the past but no mod in the current team has broken the code of conduct.
It continues to be the case that a few posters have less interest in Argyle than they do in how two seperate websites are run - unfortunately this means that threads such as this one are inevitable from time to time. It is also inevitable that some posters who feel the need use websites to attack individuals use this website. It is a shame that these individuals so not feel brave enough to do it face to face where the rest of us don't have to listen to it.
There have been a number of major incidents, where this website has been used for political (note small p) manoeuvering. Generally the people involved are known to the mods and the situations are dealt with. Recently two have come to the fore and remain unresolved - one is the 4th poster who used the Deep Throat account - I would prefer if this individual revelealed himself and was man enough to accept what follows. The other incident is well known and been named elsewhere in this thread. The person is/was well respected and again I would have hoped he was man enough to realise his mistake and apologise to those he attacked.
No doubt this will be copied and posted elsewhere, picked over, analysed and elements of it will re-appear here or there with "what is he hiding" comments. It's a genuine post and one that I have not read over and over again and no doubt my English could be clearer. As far as the mods are concerned, there are two unresolved issues as listed above. We will not be naming names, as we wouldn't with anyone who wishes to use a nom-de-plume but we do urge those individuals to "come clean", it will be to the benefit of this website, the club and supporters to do so. Not to do so risks at some point a mod, past mod, or another Deep Throater becoming fed up with it all and going public, far better to own up in my opinion.
However, he's forgotten (and I'm sure not intentionally) to tackle the 3rd recent issue which is pm's to the MOD room being shared with the non Modding former owner of the site. John Petrie's to be precise. MP, if you see this maybe you'd like to respond.
I'm quite impressed with the thread, I asked similar questions just under a year and was banned.

What a pity Mark Pedlar couldn't have posted that message much, much earlier instead of trying to laugh the thread off in a mod gang style.
He pays too much attention to what is posted on this site and little to the decent Pasoti posters who are rightly insensed by all the subterfuge and corrupt behaviour.

I totally agree. Funny enough Mark is all defensive but in my opinion it's a good post. The issue I have still is that they are leaving it up to the individuals to come forward. I would advocate giving them a timescale to come clean and then they should be revealed. Until then that website will always have these issues over it.
A mod has already admitted that he'd wished he'd outed Cockney Green.
This is worse in my opinion. Damon admitted that the posts about BW were intiated by someone close to him inside the club who he subsequently sacked. I think it is plain for all to see that a current Director has been involved in slagging off a supporter of the club anonymously.

I have little problem with the mods not exposing the culprit/s. Mods have access to various private information. It shouldn't be made public.
However, as I've said elsewhere, the longer that the coward/s don't come forward the more that innocent people may be accused.

Why pilgrim pete? In my opinion, in all this crap he's come out as an honourable, intelligent young man who was put upon.

I never thought I would say this, I always had him down as Newell's tea boy but on this occasion I agree Knecht.

Newell, Wozzer, Jameson, Ponty and PL2 have all confessed, in varying degrees, to posting as Deepthroat.
Newell, Wozzer, Jameson and a yet to confess A.N.Other posted the really bad stuff.

It's going to be either an AN other who no longer posts anywhere or someone who would face repurcussions. The former probably isn't it.
Webb's is an honourary post - he doesn't get paid to be President. I doubt it's Chris Webb. Peter Jones? Very possible given he's used a multi to have a go at John Petrie. James Brent? Absolutely not - it'd be the Argyle equivalent of who shot JR. Nikkkkkkkkkkkkk - mates with Newell, appeared after Deep Throat and the Trust stuff - possible.
One of them.

Tis a tricky one I agree Knecht however as you say without the true identities being revealed then innocent people may be accused and indeed if I were a Mod from PASOTI I would also apply pressure on the basis that they are bringing the site into disrepute (hard to fathom I know.. )
As everyone has mentioned the prolonged silence only leads people to believe that it is someone who must be protected. Now PASOTI, to their credit, are keeping these threads alive, albeit on terraces, this will not go away.

Yep - sounds about right Hairy. The mods have had no problem outing Babararacucudada's multi history - so it's rather hypocritical to want to protect the other deepthroater.

Deep Throat was used quite a while before it was found out. It was Deep Throat who announced on Pasoti that Graham Clark had resigned from the ISC of the Trust. I wondered at the time who Deep Throat was because it got onto Pasoti very quickly.

Someone who may have been involved with the Trust at the time then?

I thought about Graham Clark as possible 'suspect' but he just doesn't seem the kind of guy to do it. It's just not his M.O.

Deep Throat also asked a question to Brent on the official Pasoti Q & A!
Which one of them was that? Would that coward also like to own up, Mr. Pedlar?

Ian Newell posted as Deep Throat by mistake as he forgot he had logged in using that username One thing I've learnt from the pasoti thread is that Rickler is called Nigel. I can't imagine anyone called Nigel being quite so angry. Soz Rickler.

Mark Pedlar has my sympathies for being a lone voice. He should expect support from his fellow mods.
I hate to keep sounding so holy but the Pasoti structure leaves it open to manipulation whilst the mods "own" the site and make the rules. How are new mods recruited, is there some sort of Masonic initiation or are the posts handed out to loyal soldiers from the front?
It's amazing the amount of sensitive information that mods seem to attract. It's necessary to have a decent moral compass. Mark Pedlar demonstrates that he has that, what about the others.
I can't see why mods need two identities. They have, as do we, a mod login for difficult situations where it would be unfair to have one mod put his name to it. Any other posts, folk should have the courage of their convictions to post in the name they are known by.

Actually Richard your memory fails you. It was announced on the Argyle Fans Trust website first and then posted as a thread on Pasoti by Cheshire Green.
For the record I have no idea who the 4th man is / was and it most certainly is not me.
