Added to that, Sheridan does nothing but bang on about the players having a lack of confidence. Do something about it ffs ! and stop bleddy reminding them. |

23 points. Oh dear.
After yesterday we are 2 points down on my predictions. Those predictions resulted in an end of season total of 47 points. Now we are "on target" for 45.

"On target" for 43. Even more worrying now. These are truly desperate times. |

| At least 10, probably 12 required between now and the final whistle at home to Barnet (including Southend) as much for the points we can take off Barnet, Wombles and Aldershot as anything else. Anything less than 10 and we can kiss goodbye to the football league. Have booked the last 2 games off today with the wife. At least one of them is going to be a must win and shit or bust. It'll be fun. Just imagine if we have to go somewhere there isn't a directors box! |

I identified most with Andy1963. Once you break the habit of going to every match it's easy to find reasons not to go. Live football and "my team" work as a tribal community thing, sharing in the glory and pain, but when the pain is so unremitting as it has been these last few years any sane person has to ask...why??? |

A welcome win gets back 2 of the points lost in the draws. Once again headed for 45 points which is still too close for comfort but we can rest slightly easier tonight than last night. |

| John Sheridan has managed five games with two wins, two draws and a loss, therefore falling behind the 50% win rate required as predicted by John for league survival. I fear not beating the Stanley and Wycombe will cost us dear.

| Out of six games under J.S. we have won 2 - just do the maths, we are falling behind Sheridan's own prediction. Only two things can save us. 1) we start consistently winning games. 2) two other teams, sink to the bottom and stay there. |

Actual results added in red. Since I last revisited this we have lost at home to Oxford and away at Northampton. If my predictions come in as expected we will gather 20 points from these games as a whole leaving us with a total of 44 points at the season's end. Disappointing though yesterday's defeat was did anybody actually expect us to come back from there with anything? I don't think so and so we should just put this one behind us and move on but we need to start getting points somewhere soon. Defeat at Wimbledon will now be a complete disaster as will failure to beat Barnet next week. We need a minimum of 4 points from the next two games ~ and even if we do that we'll still be heading towards a likely-to-be-insufficient 44 points in total. It's getting close to the point where we need to hit the panic button. Does anybody at the club even know where it is? |

| With everyone around us seemingly putting results together the points total to stay up is going to be high, maybe even as high as 48. Unless we get at least 4 points from the next 2 games then it will be more a case of which game we get relegated at as opposed to whether we get relegated or not. |

| I cannot think of an example of where a new manager comes in and makes such an uninspiring difference, usually the side gets a boost a la Bristol Rovers/John Ward, with us we scraped by the skin of the teeth wins against Morecambe and Aldershot, failed to beat 2 teams at home which should have been a gift-wrapped 6 points, and lost our last 2 games. We have a team now that is technically capable, its almost as soon as they get in a green shirt they turn to rat-shit. |

| Sheridan should have come in with his own staff, that is usually what happens at most clubs, but then under Brent we are no ordinary club. |

Still on for 44 points. Still need to beat Barnet. If we don't it's as near as damn it all over for us. To stay on course for them. Unfortunately it's looking more and more like we may need 50 points to stay up. And the games in which to get them are running out. |

| If Barnet beat us on Saturday then they hit the 40 point mark with 11 games to go. The expected safety net purely judging by points accrued so far would be 49 however based on current form then it could well be 50. Either way we're going to need 5 wins from 12 games when we've currently won 7 from 34. Everyone knows the run-in we have with 9 out of the 12 games against teams in the top half where we average out at 0.76 points per game. That gives us 7 points from those 9 games. Win the other three and we're on 49 points and maybe safety. Barnet is simply a must win game. |

We desperately needed to beat Barnet and avoid defeat at Wimbledon and we did. Still on for 44 points as we head into a seriously challenging run of games. We need a couple of "unexpected" wins and the York, Chesterfield and Cheltenham games look like the best bets for them. There's only 6 points between the bottom 10 clubs now so any team that wins a few consecutive games will fly up the league. I fully expect us to go into the final game at Rochdale needing a win to stay up. |
