The fireman may as well not be here. There's no way you can start playing professional football at 32. The fitness levels required are way above the poxy league of wales!

You really are clueless, he's a quality player and if he stays fit will score many many goals this season

One of the best ive seen in a while in the green shirt

I bet he doesn't feature much through injury. He'll make Mpenza look like a regular starter.

Sleep

Sorry mate,Freathy has a point. It was always going to be very hard for the guy to make the adjustment to pro football. If you read Tommy Tynan's book on his time at Argyle, there are some paragraphs there detailing how tough John Brimacombe found the adjustment to professional football and he was 26,not 32.Griffiths did play well in the limited time he was on the pitch yesterday and certainly made a difference, although so did Chadders on his return against Northampton last season.I hope that the injury is not a serious one and Rhys can quickly make a return to the team to continue the form that he showed yesterday but it isn't "clueless" to suggest that he may find tthe transition difficult-the evidence is already there to some extent.
Exactly, thats my take on it as well. Some footballers dont have the physique to play professional football.Their body just cant stand the physical stresses and strains placed upon it.The classic example was Darren Anderton a few years ago, good footballer but always injured.Calf strains and pulled hamstrings being the most common injuries.Nick Chadwick is another example of a player with a poor injury record.Fireman Sam has only justed started the professional game and is already picking up injuries. He could be another Chadwick.

I'm willing to give Fletch this one over Nelson, and I'm so glad Griffiths played well and scored. All along I've thought it could be the signing of the decade. A big awkward player who has skill as well, and who knows how to score. Goalscorers seem to be able to adjust a lot more than say central defenders and wingers when stepping up in quality of opposition.

I got the impression from my mates that PCH is also getting the hang of it now and they all said that you could see he has bags of ability. Even Cobi is praising him!

Still worried though. The end result came about because of injuries. If we had won 3-2 with the majority of the starting XI I would say the signs are good. It's just that nagging doubt about Fletcher not really knowing his best team and tactically being outthought by other managers. Next up is Torquay away and last season they pissed all over us in both games so it will be interesting to gauge if we have improved as opposed to them, as they have started well again this season despite losing a couple of key players.

6k crowd as well is encouraging. After being beaten by Aldershot and not looking very good I was afraid that the masses would have turned their back on the team early on, but that wasn't bad considering Northampton are hardly an attractive opposition and only brought 200 odd themselves.

So now it's a big derby followed by 2 home games. At the end of these 3 games we should have a clearer picture of where we are.
