| Greengenes- you may have already done this, but if they have sent any emails, right click (the mouse button) on the email title and click "View Full Header". This will give a box with jargon in. There might be an IP address in the From line and possibly details on whether they are using Virgin, Sky etc.
This is how we know an IP address of the person who invaded us. They have been using a proxy for posting on the site, but sent an email from a Sky server which gave an IP address. |

ATD doesn't give out personal information. You would need to make an official approach through the authorites to get that information. I'll give you their address though and you can go knock on their door |

The police can trace this person. The police are working on it. We have a meeting soon with their Cyber Investigations department. |

That can be normal if there's been unauthorised access to your acocunt. Contact your email provider and they should be able to investigate. |

The whole site is being targeted. Its part of the "pretend everything is great" campaign. |

They seem to be doing it by requesting a new password. This then sends an email to the account you registered with containing a link to activate a new password. The way they get in is if they have access to your email address or your ATD password is an easy one to guess. The advice at the moment is to change your ATD and email password if you feel you need to, but to keep an eye on any PM's and posts which you haven't made. |

Contact your email provider and they should be able to investigate. Why would they hack your account ffs ? SG has previous for this sort of thing when he was asked to hack Rickler's email account. I believe there is a poster on Exeweb with the username initials SG. Unsurprisingly, he is very close to the twisted one. They even have sleepovers. Of course, it could just be a coincidence It never ceases to amaze me that these people claim to be the good guys and praaaaaaaaper faaaaaaaans. Proper villains more like ! |

| But the strange thing is, that this isn't a one off. The person(s) has been attacking the site for a fortnight at least.
You have to ask yourself why? and who?
Coupled with the fact that an ATD poster has been removed from a voluntary position at the club, and replaced by someone else, and there has been absolutely no change in the type of work produced (apart from the quality of the new bloke being worse) more questions need to be asked? |

Exactly! There's a personal campaign being fought out by one or two and their actions have been known for sometime, we all know who it is and from where I'm sat Brent isn't smelling of roses either! |

| Once they've had their visit from the Old Bill, is there anything from a legal standpoint that would prevent them from being publicly named or identified?
Just a personal opinion, but one way of preventing nutters like this, is to show them in no uncertain terms that if they play the game, and get caught, they'll be opened up to public scrutiny and in turn, face the consequences. |

Well we already know whom has instigated this kind of thing in the past and the police were made aware then too. |

I would've thought if charges were brought then they couldn't be named until after any trial. If no charges are brought then clearly not enough evidence. Personally speaking, if I felt I had enough evidence I probably wouldn't have gone to the police but publicly named and shamed anyway. Nobody's gonna get jailed. |

My previous post here was my opinion. I don't believe moderators should be presurised, especially now it has gone as far as it has.

My previous post here was my opinion. I don't believe moderators should be presurised, especially now it has gone as far as it has. At this stage, if the matter is under investigation by the police, it would be prudent not to name the person on this forum, and certainly not if charges are brought as a result of that investigation. I don't see a problem if the name was communicated privately, however. |
