Its been said so much over the last 1-2 years, but my take is that this is one of the most important days in the history of the club.

Managers come and go on a regular basis at many clubs but this appointment is absolutely crucial. I think the board deserve credit, it has been a swift appointment but I don't think it has been a rushed appointment, and after careful consideration, I think we have our man.

I really wish some of the doom mongers - who were the pro fletcher brigade only last week Rolling Eyes - would stop writing of John Sheridan. The man has a proven track record in the lower leagues, he got a team out of this league on a low budget, and he took an average Oldham side to the play offs in League 1. Yes he was fired from Chesterfield however nearly every manager gets fired before they join another club. So yes, a good manager much more qualified than Carl Fletcher. A 40 percent games won record tells no lies.

He really seems a full on 'tough guy', and I think that's exactly what we need, somebody to scare the living daylights out of the players and to be frank and straight with them.

This is such an important time in the clubs history, bring on saturday, we have to support the manager cheers

Argyle could have put Spongebob Square Pants in charge and some people would have said '' Well we have to give him a chance''

Pathetic.

I have no strong feelings on it either way if im honest. The only positive is that Fletcher is gone.

I'm going to give it some time before I form an opinion on JS.

Anyone is better than fletcher. I hope he does well for us because we need all the rub of the green between now and may.

I should also add that i was very worried about Wotton getting it. He was the obvious '' Cheep Option''. Glad that the club are not quite as stupid as they look.

Yes because the opening line to a One Direction song written by Ed Sheeran is really emo like.

And your second quote was a quote by Nelson Mandela, he was a proper emo right?

David Bowie in Labyrinth is that? Perhaps a little more emo like than One Direction.

Whatever your pre conceived ideas of Sheridan you can hardly argue with Cobis point, this is a HUGE day for the MASSIVE CLUB with HUGE POTENTIAL! The majority of fans have been asking Brent to act and go get an experienced manager, it might not be exactly who you wanted but it fits the bill in my eyes. I personally would have preferred Blackwell but the football would have been dire where as with Sheridan he will go for games, something else I have been criticising Fletch for not doing. The die are cast, we have to get behind Sheridan and hope he sorts it all out.

I want him to succeed. A season that was heralded with 6 or 7 'firsts in football' has got to the new year with the club staring a first for Argyle squarely in the face - relegation out of the football league.

This. Brent should tell Webb to get his coat now as well.

Firsts in football? The now almost completely empty zoo corner, the murals which look alright but so what? feckin postboxes!

Nobody other than Chris Webb himself gives a flying feck about any of these firsts. It's all about the football and while everyone's been fannying around with this shit the on field mess has grown worse.

Once the side starts winning that's when crowds will rise, not because the falls road Belfast has arrived in Devon.

Same with the PASB, more utter bollocks that nobody other than the 7 or 8 candidates is interested in.

As a civil servant with a very English accent who once had to go with a minister to a meeting on the falls road, I really hope it doesn't arrive in Devon. *Invests in brown trousers*

Falls Road? Pah!

Try giving a speech to 500 delegates including the Polish deputy Prime Minister in a huge conference hall in Warsaw.

In Polish. Not my first language.

Anyhoo, it sounds as if the boy Cobi is doing a warm up for a Presidential outpouring, which will, no doubt, inspire us all.

As for Sheridan, I do have some hope now that we won't be finishing in the bottom two.
