It wouldn't be Nic Warren's style. If it was him we'd know nothing of it. He was a bit of an enigma on the Board. Sat as he always had in the Devonport. Always found at PASALB get togethers pre match and socially. If there ever was a saviour of Plymouth Argyle it was him who put up most of the money fpr the Dan McCauley buy out yet only took a equal share of the club (or voting power on the Board) with the others who put in far less. |

| p.s. if Nikkk was still considering investing, and he did propose a group of other high worth Argyle fans getting together to approach JB, then perhaps the Presidents and IJN recent meeting with Nikkk was both a thankyou and ambassodorial visit. Brents emissarys if you like. |

| That is always assuming I had any access to a football chat site at all Greenskin which I didn't at that time. I would needed to have known what I was looking for and where several years later. I bought a computer when I retired which was 3 years ago. Prior to that I worked on a computer for my job but under pain of death if it was used for any personal thing. Not everyone was in the know 5 years ago. As I've no idea who "posty" is I will just have to accept that his take on the offer is correct and it happened which I do. Begs the question where are they now? Have they approached Brent with a proposal? |

| Well I'm disappointed. I'm watching a documentary about luxury hotels over the years and not one mention of James Brent or Akkeron.
I feel like a second class citizen right now. And I won't be leaving a tip. |

I feel like a second class citizen right now. And I won't be leaving a tip. Then you are Jock:) JB only goes after 3 and 4star hotels as they have the best return and the greatest occupancy. He has about 35 so is a "coming" player, but not a major one just yet. Although he probably will be. |

Dougie, I think you may be barking up the wrong tree/trouser leg:) Interesting that the Consortium could have bid to buy Argyle from the Administrator and didnt. On the plus side at least JB recognised the talent and passion that is Peter Jones. |

Not quite intelligent though, there is definately another Z in zZZ. You missed the usual retort which is "they just don't get it". Not that anyone has ever explained exactly what it is "they" just don't get.
If you want pasoti style responses of everyone singing from the same hymn sheet then just rename this site pasoti II and we will all start with "lets now all sing hymn No......". Well, the consortium wasn't imaginary, was it? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]'Innnnn one !'

I suspect you may well be right on the dull front Sensible, but lets hope the ignorance is a joke. There are other groups we can belong to .. it ain't just one or the other.
I find it hard to understand why Tringy has invoked such ire on here ... he just rams home the same point, no more than that, as many many posters do, in fact Sensible and 125 have been as irrepressibly consistent from their barracades.... perhaps it's the style that irritates some, and maybe it is intended to, but that's life.
I would hate for this place to become another Pasoti. Rounding on an individual just for being a one trick pony. The next thing will be folk clamouring for an ignore button and it being accepted as the way forward. 'Innnnnn two !' |

The details were reported thoroughly at the time.Plympton Pilgrim was involved and could provide much greater detail than i could but Peter Jones was definitely involved,as was Kevin Ball, aka McLondonG,a wealthy Argyle supporter [he used to post as Spagmybol on the old Argyletalk] self evidently based in London.I seem to remember that their proposal involved the removal of 2 directors who were on the board at the time and it was rejected, seemingly on a point of etiquette, but PP would be able to put the flesh on the bones better than i-he was very much involved, apparently due to his desire for a car parking space at HP. 'Innnn three !' You can't beat a bit of bully ! I could go on but it seems pointless. For some, mediocrity and blind faith are just fine and dandy, especially if you get a silly hat.

| As I said previously seadog, at that time I wasn't online so was not aware of any of it. The question I ask now is if this Consortium was so willing then where are they now. Not so attractive in league 2 maybe. Promotion from the Championship and the rewards if achieved are always going to look a lot better than climbing back there with no profit involved. The people in the Consortium may have been fans but they are also business people and I've not seen or heard of anyone proposing to chuck Argyle a wedge anytime soon now. |

Michael Foot watches from above. PJ is now involved once again. Kev Ball has had a few health issues and I hope things are going OK for him. He did pop onto the old Argyle Talk site now and again so if you're out there Kev, come say hello! What were the other names again, the old grey matter aint what it was? |

| Dianne Thompson- Was and still is the CEO of Camelot who run the National Lottery. I think she was going to be a non-exec director? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Julian Seaward- Senior Operating Partner at TDR Capital ltd (accountant) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Chris Garden- Not sure on him but got a feeling this is the guy- [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Kev Ball was a Producer and created shows for ITV, and produced several prime time shows. Peter Jones is some sort of Marketing expert and he was involved with the re-branding of the second tier as 'The Championship'. There's probably more details on Pasoti/vital its just finding them. |

Two points there, Tony. 1...... it was trailed that the consortium thing was intended as an injection of cash to bump the playing side of the club, something the administration process was not about at all. That consortium were never trailed as property speculators. 2 ............ Even the likes of Todd/Gardner were reported as saying 'they couldn't get anywhere near the process'. If those fine gentlemen couldn't access the admin process, I'm sure nobody else would have been able to do so. .... they must have tried ever so hard to buy the club and put in the investment they had always wanted to, just like the penniless chap from Cornwall. |

If someone is writing a book about the admin process they should want to know about as background info and to frame the rest of the story. It might be a footnote in Argyles history but an important one never the less. In any case I'd like to read it. Was very pro consortium (I liked the cut of Kevin Balls gib and Robert Hillier - if that's the fella I was trying to remember before and Nic Warren would have not let Argyle down) |
