| No thanks, we need a couple of strikers and midfielders not another bloody defender. |

| Maxi has proved to be an integral part of our defense and the only real part of our team I have confidence in. If there are a few coppers to spend within the wage cap I just feel we would do better spending it on creating/scoring goals. Last season it was all defense mode, a needs must being one view but with fletcher being a defensive mid I can't help feeling it could be mind set and were in for more of the same. Saying that a certain Mr Pulis thrieves on that style. |

Berry, Purse, Blanchard, Williams
This should be our starting defence next season. WE NEED A CREATIVE MIDFIELDER AND A SCORING STRIKER.

I'm not sure about Williams but would accept him being given a go. I think we need a mid-field runner - not sure if Hourihane's up to it. I shall be interested to see if Walton becomes more creative come the new season when we will suddenly become an attacking side! With neither Hemmings nor MacDonald returning (?) we need a winger or similar to provide telling balls and score a few themselves. We certainly need an aggressive, goal-scorer or two. |

Certainly wouldn't dispute your upper case sentence. But even though that may well be the starting line up for the defence at least at the start of next season, centre backs ,being what they are,are very likely to incur injuries and suspensions over the course of a season and cover will be needed-i wouldn't say that Nelson's form last year would inspire confidence that he fits the bill.Reading the Indy today,i see Ellis played over 40 games for a play off reachiing side last season and received some pretty good reviews for his performances,so he would seem to have a bit of pedigree in this division.Right age too and it would send out a bit of a message that Argyle were serious in their intent to bring in some decent quality for next year and may well indeed show that they have one of the bigger budgets in the division.Good signing if it happens IMHO. |

| Would probably be a good addition, we need a squad not a bare eleven, with injuries and suspentions, we need good cover rather than kids. |

Out of contract at Torquay, turned down a new one, The Sunday Independent says he on the way to his home town of Plymouth If you want a vacant looking, dropped jawed look of bemusement on a defender who is responsible for almost all possession given away by his more enlightened co defenders then Ellis is your man. If you get the chance to analyse most of the goals that Torquay United conceded at important moments last season you will see Mark "The Peoples' Champion" Ellis getting drawn out of position, going to ground easily and generally being responsible for most of those.............the vital second goal at Cheltenham was a classic Ellis bog up! Mind you he'll run through a brick wall for you but it's the resultant brain damage that is the problem! |

| "a bare eleven".........hhmmmm!! That's a novel idea but not sure if it would bring the crowds back. Maybe Freathy might go for the novelty value. I'm with block4 on this one. We need forward players. |

| Was he a regular for them this season? If so, I guess taking players from play-off level teams, is a step in the right direction. |
