| Plymouth Argyle will be an attractive proposition for players next season . We had a nightmare start and players didn't want to know us . I expect we'll will be promotion candidates next season . |

I like him, you won't find a player that works harder, he does the dirty things right, he gives a lot to the team. The problem is, we don't have any creative mid's to feed the ball to him Don't you also think Luke Young should be released Cobi? |

I, and some others, think he is overrated, there is never an end product. He is worth keeping, but he is not the next 'Paul Scholes' as I heard somebody on pasoti say. |

| Two strikers, three midfielders, two fullbacks, and a good keeper added to what we got, should gets us in the top six if fletcher is any good as a manager. just add another three or so ,and its relegation battle again ,unless the three are tevez messi and john terry. |

Ah now that's the most important bit of all. IF Fletcher is any good as a manager. If he is then we definitely don't need 8 players. 3 good quality players would suffice. If he's a crap manager then even if you chuck millions at him, it aint gonna work. It's been said that Fletcher will now play attractive football with his own squad from the start and a pre-season to get his system organised. I can't quite believe that with Walton and Wotton still on the books, but if he makes his priority signings attacking or creative midfielders and strikers, then it will at least show that he doesn't intend to play the same way that has been the case this season. And Cobi, would you honestly rather keep Feeney and pay him more than Luke Young? Feeney I'm fairly sure would be on much higher wages than Young, and at 31 isn't about to turn into a 20 goals a season man, when since 2007 he has played over 100 games at various levels and scored a grand total of 13 goals. Young lives up to his name and is still only 19 and can only improve with experience. Especially since all of his appearances so far have been in a defensive struggling side. |

| Feeney works incredibly hard but he does not score. I've watched him closely over the last 3 or 4 matches and his game seldom changes. He receives the ball with back to goal and more often loses it. He does not have much to run onto so how much that is his game I have no idea as it isn't put into practice. He is not a player to hold a ball up and lay it off. We need somebody upfront who scores regularly as much as it pains me to say like Wright-Phillips and with a bit of heart for the job. I have watched every home game this season and since Purse and Blanchard became the central pairing in defence the goals against have reduced dramatically. There is nothing wrong with the current defence.
I keep harping back, when discussing Argyle and the sort of team we need, to the first team Sturrock built. Not a super star in the side in my opinion. Just an absolutely tight knit unit who played for each other and put in 110% for the cause. They developed into a winning machine so it isn't stars you want it is the right mix of players who get on together as a unit and get used to winning games. If we could clone that team we would be laughing all the way up. It is luck in my opinion to some extent but no reason why we can't do it again.
As for next season well this will probably get the "no ambition" veto but I do not put any pressure on the side to finish in a certain place. Doesn't mean I don't want or hope for promotion and I start every season with hope of what is to come. Having been fighting a losing battle for the last 3 seasons and only turning the corner late in this one, even halfway up the league with no worries of relegation would seem almost nice for a change. Promotion would be great though. |
