As far as I can tell, this site is the only site that has an Ian Newell appreciation thread. I notice you are yet to post on that.

- Most of the people who post on here are wrong about most things but some of us get things right. Fletcher is bound to get the chance for next season so the point is mute really. Think he deserves a shot at it with a proper start to the season. Many people have posted on various sites asking what Deehan actually does. Given the concensus was that it was very little he is hardly likely to get any credit from outside the Club now.
There should be no 'bound to get any job' situation. There are many instances when a chairman has recognised/ decided that a manager is not the man to take the club forward and has sacked them, often despite good results eg Newcastle sacking Hughton and bringing in Pardew. In Argyle's case, we have a chairman who, by his own admisssion, knows nothing about football, yet, 'sees something in Flatcher.' Personally, just by listening to Fletch speak, I would be very concerned about his ability to have imaginative ideas, react quickly to situations, communicate and inspire footballers. But this is Argyle and of course he'll get the job. So, what's another season in Div 2, at least the real fans have their Argo ! ? |

Windor 67 ?? ?? i'm to much of a technotard to have any idea what thats about. I have no comment on Ian Newell as i do not know the man, I know he did a great deal for the club in the dark days fighting for survival and raised a great deal of money for the staff fund all commendable stuff, the "Deep Throat" saga is not very commendable, aside from these things i know nothing of him or his life and have little interest the squabbles that seem to be raging between him and a few people, they are of passing comical interest to me in a voyeuristic kind of way but i am not taking sides as i don't know enough about it, and given the abuse that "womble" recieved when he gave a balanced argument view its not something i would want to get into. If as its beginning to seem this forum is just an Anti establishment forum then i shan't be here for long, if its Argyle Talk "Democratic" i may stick around for a while not that i think anyone here will give a toss. |

Just a small point, it was David Norris Nickkkkkkk who single handedly raised a great deal of money for the staff fund Blimey didn't think he'd have the time to frame the shirts, post the Auction and send it all off, on top of fighting for championship survival but hey credit where its due well done Nikkkk. As i said above is this just a knock Fletcher, Newell and Webb forum or not......... |

You must have missed my previous posts today where I acknowledged the work of Fletcher and his deserving case for a new deal with the club. As for the other 2 characters you mention I have little time for either, they will secure their own downfall without the help of this site, ATD is merely a tool in which to openly debate without restriction even if it does not fit in with your own personal view of how our club should be run. |
