Medical + media was completed today, but the name of the player has been kept under wraps impressively by the club. I’m 99% sure it will be a foreign player, hence why their identity is unknown. Wait and see

Probably cos no one’s ever heard of him as such thats why watch ….we’re just have to wait and see hopefully it ain’t as underwhelming we could do with a marquee signing and show some intent for the coming season that’s for sure

Lewis Dobbin became an Aston Villa player in June 2024, completing a switch from Everton.

The Stoke-on-Trent native spent ten years with the Toffees, rising through the academy ranks and making 20 senior appearances for the club.

Dobbin, who gained experience on loan at Derby County in the 2022/23 season, scored his first Premier League goal against Chelsea in December 2023.

The forward has also been a regular for England at age-group level, winning caps at the U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 level.

My guess would be on loan at Plymouth within the next 6 weeks.

Dobbin's only a workhorse anyway.

Why was he not involved last night, loan on the way?

It could be that Dobbin already has a loan agreed so didn't play, whereas the others who did play haven't got loans sorted out yet, if any of them did I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been involved.

No wonder we're favourites for relegation again.  All our signings relatively untried loans.  Anyone who does turn out half decent will be recalled in January.  Hallett needs to find proper investment and then do one.
