I'm actually getting past caring. The whole country seems to be out and about and doing it's thing but woe betide if you want to go a gig or the theatre or the match (haha the Welsh government actually allowing it now the season's over) or stand at the bar. Let's Rock Exeter is supposed to be on July 3rd and I can see the 'cancelled' banners coming.

Vaccines for the over-50s and the vulnerable obviously weren't the answer. I would say I'll never vote for this shower again but I never have. I don't doubt any others would be just as bad but it really seems policy is made up on the spot.

Yet as we speak West Devon BC where I live has one case, Derriford Hospital has zero Covid patients yet because young people in a few cities are spreading it we all to curb our behaviour because any attempt to take direct action would end up with BLM worries in the head offices. It's pathetic.

Apart from having to queue to get in Wetherspoons which was naturally packed the only obvious sign was people wearing masks on their faces heading to seats at which point off they come

What was absolutely staggering considering we're are still supposed to be under some restrictions was it took 8 hours from Marsh Mills to my lads apartment in Portland Rd Nottingham... Traffic started building around 5 miles our side of Holden Hill and never relented. Where everyone was going I have no idea. Bristol area was gridlocked virtually

On an side if I had anyone still in the 12-15 age group they'd wouldnt be getting the vaccination authorised yesterday.

Just reviewing the broadsheets etc and the knives are incredibly sharp over this 3rd wave. More alarming is the case numbers where people have been double dosed

Sedgemoor services was packed. At least 30% not bothering with masks (I did).

Have been following Argyle and Cornwalls well known cartoonist on FB who lately has been quite rightly commenting on the ludicrous prices of homes forcing out locals to relocate elsewhere in the country because so many are 2nd homes and rentals etc.

Really is time that holiday homes and lets were heavily taxed. (That will apply to my own family as well re Bovisand)

Situation is farcical and it needs to be discouraged with punitive penalties. If you can afford to own it than you can afford to pay uprated charges

Re second homes it's already like shutting the stable door once the horse has bolted. I have a tourism business but it's Glamping Pod type stuff, not legal for actual housing the same as your chalets in Bovisands. The real problem is every house, cottage and flat in any seaside town is now on Airbnb or second homes leading to the massive shortage of staff for hotels and restaurants and also the towns die in the winter leading to all the shops, garages and pubs really struggling to stay afloat. Most problems are caused by the massive disparity in wages from Urban to country areas.
I'd welcome a tourist tax which could go into affordable housing yet when they build "affordable housing" no young locals can afford it, we need a realistic living wage and way more tax up top.
Sadly tourists and rich incomers are valued way more than us locals.
