The government claims many millions of items of PPE have been procured and delivered, it's the job of the free press and the opposition party to dig out if that is true or a lie, Starmer quiet on that so far, it would be the end of the Tories if it was shown that they haven't supplied what they have claimed.

Interestingly all the photos of NHS staff i have seen on the Guardian and BBC sites they are always shown wearing full PPE, gowns, masks, gloves, shields and aprons, the Guardian especially is hardly going to cover up for the Tories, so which hospitals have staff dealing with covid patients wearing bin bags and towels?

I suppose the clue to it is they weren’t running.

The Tories are in for ever now, FFS! Because even if they kill millions we will still doff our caps and say thank ee, thank goodness the socialists aren't in power.

When all this shit is over, Starner will have a great chance of actually providing credible opposition. He’s obviously not left-wing enough for a section of the Labour support, but unlike the Corbyn Circus, he is potentially electable. Britain needs a credible opposition. We possibly now have one.

I agree Starmer may at least provide opposition but the forces of momentum are keen on his downfall.

He's on the Sophie Ridge show very shortly on Sky lets see what he says
She's currently brutalising another Tory gimp Alok Sharma who is incapable of answering simple questions yet again

Steering the subject back towards football with May rapidly approaching it's getting unlikely that the season can be completed. I have heard noises about playing the remainder of the games behind closed doors but if that can happen then surely the way would be paved for grass roots football to continue?

Until the virus is under control which its not at the moment i dont see how any kind of football even behind closed doors can restart.
At a wild guess i would say they will trial a game in a couple of months an see how it goes.

My Son's football season (under 16's) has ended and it's been null and voided. The new season will start whenever it can.

How can anyone say if this season will or will not finish until we know when games can be played again?

If social distancing remains in force (even in a slightly scaled back form) for another 6 weeks meaning 3 months without games, I suspect most managers will say they want a "pre season" to get players back to match fitness before they play competitive matches, Meaning the "season" will be finished over July and August. Which will push the start of next season (20-21) into October at least.

Another 3 months of social distancing and we are looking at the next "season" starting next year!

Then we need to think about how the December 2022 World Cup will fit in

On the plus side, I think we will have summertime domestic football in future

Even with City's record gate this season they still would have been able to do the social distancing thing.

Implement the pools panel and run with it, clubs can deal with players contracts as normal and plan for the new season as per the norm

Bemused that sporting events worldwide have been cancelled completely even our own Wimbledon which now is mainly first two weeks in July and yet football is still arsing around in April doing nothing.

As you say the season is over. Implement an average points per game so all clubs are levelled up and end it now. Winners and losers and for once that would be us but just get it done and dusted

It's all conjectiture and speculation at the moment one of the biggest factors that is making this COVID 19/football/back to work thing so irritating with each passing day is people making their own shit up and passing it up as facts . Even the experts say they don't know enough about the virus to say when or where.

Spent a couple of hours yesterday, watching these amazing games from 1970, it's a great footie fix in these difficult days, when top flight football was actually a contact sport!
The best bit is in the replay at Old Trafford when the red mist descends over Jacki Charlton and he just walks up to the legend that was Peter Osgood and kicks him in front of the ref, and he doesn't even get his name taken. Ah ha those were the days.

The Championship, League One and League Two could be returning to action on June 6 in order to complete the 2019/20 season and ensure the financial future of many lower league clubs.

Football around the globe remains on lockdown amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but there is a growing desire to return to action as soon as it is safely possible in order to ensure that clubs don't go bankrupt.

An EFL emergency fund of £50million has been set up in order to help struggling Championship, League One and League Two sides, while Premier League clubs are also feeling the strain during the lack of action.

The top-flight could also resume on the same weekend as the lower leagues, with all matches taking place behind closed doors.
